Dedicated to my favorite singer, Laufey (Lay-Vay).
-A.A.

Once upon a time, there lived a very scared little bumblebee named Leo. Leo was younger than all the other bumblebees.

In the bumblebee town where Leo lived, there was one flower, called the dusk spore flower. This certain flower would only open when a bee drunk its nectar.

All of Leo's friends and family had taken a sip out of the dust spore flower before. Except Leo. The problem was, Leo didn't know how to fly.
By the time all of Leo's siblings were Leo's age, they had all been flying. But Leo had not taken his first flight yet. He was just too scared. Leo's friends could also fly.

"Leo, sweetie, when are you going to learn how to fly? Everyone in Bee Town knows how to fly, even your friends. You haven't even sipped from the dust spore flower yet!" Leo's mom exclaimed.

"Yes, son, your mother is right," Leo's dad added. "You must drink out of the flower, Leo. It's a Bee Town tradition."

"It's just scary for me..." Leo trailed off as his parents buzzed away.

"What's up, Leo? Still can't fly, huh?" the Bee Town bully, Benny, sneered at Leo. "Buzz off, Benny," Leo sighed, rolling his eyes. Benny glared at Leo, and went to sip out of the dust spore flower, just to annoy Leo.

Suddenly, Leo heard a loud yelp. "HELPPPPP!" someone screamed. Leo was horrified to see his mother being chased by a bird!
Leo panicked. There was no one else around. He was going to have to do something to save his mother!

Suddenly, Leo remembered his dad telling him that birds hated shiny things. An idea popped up in Leo's mind. He could reflect something shiny into the bird's eyes!
But what would he reflect? He was running out of time! His mother was going to get eaten!

"AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!"
Suddenly, Leo spotted a glass shard on the ground. That! Leo could use the glass to reflect light off from the sun, and that would fend off the bird!

But the shard was on the ground, and Leo would have to fly to get it! Leo squeezed his eyes shut. He couldn't fly! But he had to save his mother!

"AHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!"
Suddenly, something amazing happened. Leo's wings began to flap, and he reached down and grabbed the shard of glass!
