In the small village of San Isidro, surrounded by lush rice fields and tall coconut trees, lived a boy named Kiko. Kiko was nine years old and was known throughout the village not only for being mischievous but also for his fiery red hair that looked like flames under the sun. He always carried a bamboo spear, which he used to chase birds and tease the neighbor's dogs. He did not listen to his Grandma Ising, his caretaker; he often played near the dangerous cliffs by the river and ignored the warnings of the elders about the spirits said to inhabit the forest. His parents were busy with farming, so it was often Grandma Ising who understood his antics.
On a hot afternoon, while Kiko was playing near an old well covered in moss and wild plants, he saw something peculiar partially buried in the ground. It was a small box made of dark wood, with strange symbols carved on it that looked like ancient letters. The symbols glimmered faintly under the sunlight. Kiko, curious despite knowing he was not supposed to play near the well due to stories of old spirits living there, used his small spear to try to dig out the box.
After a moment, the box was finally out of the ground. Sand and dry leaves stuck to it. There was a small opening on the side of the box, so Kiko tried to open it. Inside, he found a small necklace with a shiny emerald stone. The stone seemed to breathe and emitted a strange light. Unable to resist his curiosity, Kiko put on the nicklace.
Kiko felt a strange tingling in his body. A sudden heat spread through his chest, and his vision went dark. When his sight returned, he was no longer by the well. He found himself in a dark and mysterious forest, surrounded by tall and dense trees. The air was cool and had a strange scent. Kiko was scared, but his mischievousness was replaced by fear and confusion
As Kiko walked through the forest, he heard a faint song. He followed it and saw an old woman sitting under a large banyan tree. The woman had long white hair that reached the ground, and her eyes were a strange color—a bright green, resembling emeralds. She held a wooden staff and wore a dress made of leaves.
"Kiko," said the old woman, her voice gentle yet powerful. "I know why you are here. The necklace you are wearing brought you to this magical forest. It is an amulet, but it only has power for those with a good heart." She explained to Kiko that the forest reflects the hearts of those who enter it. If one has a bad heart, their experience will also be bad.
