To all the dreamers who shine bright in the quiet of the night. May you always embrace what makes you unique and find peace in your own rhythm.

Echo the owl loved the quiet of the night—until tonight. While his friends slept soundly, Echo sat alone on his branch, wide awake. The moon was bright, the stars twinkled, but something felt different. The night, once peaceful, felt too quiet. Echo wished he could sleep like the others, but he couldn’t. And the longer he stayed awake, the lonelier he felt.

Echo looked around at the quiet backyard below, where the trees swayed in the breeze. The crickets chirped, and other nighttime creatures moved around, but Echo felt like he was the only one awake in the whole world. He fluffed his wings, trying to ignore the sad feeling inside. His friends, all warm and cozy, were dreaming, but Echo couldn’t sleep.
"Why can’t I sleep like them?" he wondered, wishing he could feel peaceful too. The night seemed colder now, and the quiet felt even louder.
Echo let out a little sigh. "I wish I wasn’t always awake when everyone else is asleep," he whispered to the night. But, like always, the night didn’t answer.
The next day, Echo's friends — Nova the dog, Finley the finch, Pip and Chip the twin squirrels, and Nibbles the rabbit — all woke up to play together, but they realized they were missing someone. They looked around, but Echo just went to sleep and looked so soundly. His friends sighed. Finch said, "I wish he wasn't sleeping when we're awake." Nova said, "Yeah, me too." Nibbles said, "Me three." Pip and Chip said, "Us four and five."
Nova shouted, "Guys, I have an idea that can help Echo!"
Finley shouted, "What? Really? How?"
Nibbles asked, "What's your idea?"
Pip and Chip said, "Go ahead, share with the group."
Nova gathered everyone into a huddle and told them the grand idea for Echo.

Nova thought for a moment. “What if we help Echo find something fun to do at night?”
Finley fluttered his wings. “Yeah! He’s awake when we’re all asleep. Let’s make the night exciting for him!”
Nibbles twitched his nose. “Maybe he needs a special night adventure!”
Pip and Chip jumped up and down. “We can help him discover cool things in the dark!”
Echo listened as his friends talked. He loved the quiet of the night. The stars twinkled, the moon shone bright, and everything felt peaceful. Maybe he wasn’t like his friends, but that was okay. He was made to be awake at night.
