The trenches are hell. Forever torturing  me. Our food reserves are next to none. Our helmets are war-torn, smeared with mud, bullet scars counting our close shaves with death and blood. Every time that whistle blows and I go over the top.  I'm plunged in a fate worse than death.....

     September 10 1916

An artillery barrage hit us earlier this day, 6 dead. I'm on watch duty and nothing else happened.

      September 11 1916

We are going over the top soon, but two are dead by sniper fire.  I smoked the last of my cigarettes and we are out of food.  Also, we are starting to run low on ammo.  Good thing we have a lot of reserve ammo.

We were attacked by the Brits.  They used gas shells  and they pounded the trench.  After, I fitted my gas-mask on, I jumped on the machine gun and I started firing at the silhouettes in the green smog.  I didn't want to kill them, they were so young.  The bodies... oh the bodies, the unlucky souls that didn't have time to put on their gas masks. What the gas did to them was horrific.....

We finally got to bury the dead from the last attacks.

September 15 1916

Three short whistles.  The only thing that          send a chill down any soldier's spine,

defense positions! The Sargent major yelled, I

hopped on the machine gun, waiting for the battle cry of a hundred soldiers but we heard rumbling, just rumbling and what came out of the fog was something out of my darkest nightmare. 

It crawled over no man's land.  We shot our

rifles like any enemy but our bullets just bounce off.  We took two grenades and

threw them into the driver side hatch

and we took it out, but over 100 died from the attack alone. 

1 dead, it was the poor private that didn't see the landmine but we captured a supply trench.
