This a plecotomus also know as pleco. This
fish is a bottom feeder witch means he eats
algae so you dont have to feed it often. these
fish can get very big and start very small.
there are lots of diffrent breeds but this is the
most common one. They like to hide in caves
or under rocks. If you scare them they will
swim very fast and hide so aproach some
slow, not all get scared easly.

Pleco can be huge like this one on the left they
have suckers and you can go to page 5 to see
a close up. Pleco can get up to 3 feet long!
When they are born they are 2 centimeters
long (after hatching from egg). These fish are
fresh water, not hostile very frendly. Once in a
while feed them algae tablets or contact a local
pet store to find out about others.

Pleco also have very very small teeth. Look
closley at the top and bottom of the mouth.
If you see a Plecostumus sucking on
something thats what they do, they are like
snails they will clean your fish tank for you, but
still clean it they dont get all of it! They will
love if you have a little cavelike thing in there
habitat for them to hide in and clean the most
just like you do with your house, clean it!

Pleco come in many shapes and colors. these
on the left are diffrent breeds. The yellow one
is a Albino and the other is a Zebra pleco.
Some are very very very expencive!! Some
breed of pleco are indagered so treat them like
they were your only way to live! They can also
range from price just by size, big small huge,
or even just normal size.

Pleco also have babies like anyother fish. This
pleco on the left is a baby. They get smaller
than that but thats about a five month old one
but not one that just hatched from a egg.
Pleco eggs are the color red and very small so
be carefull, and watch in your tank because
some fish will eat their eggs! Some fish will
even eat baby fish and baby Pleco.

Pleco do have many breeds but this one on the
left is a very rare one. The one on the left is a
gold nugget pleco. They are called "gold
nugget" because it is covered in gold spots. On
the plecos fins at the top is also gold but the
spots and fins are a gold yellow not perfectly
gold. Many pleco have special things and
personalites but some are normal, thats what
makes them cool.

Now we have talked about most of plecos way
of life now how about there appitiete. Pleco do
eat algae but on the left is algae tablets. These
tablets you should feed a pleco once a week
but feed them three. Sometimes and most of
times pleco will carry them with there suckers
and bring them with them to there hiding
spot.Pleco also live like best friends with the
cat fish. They both like under rocks and in
caves and algae.

Now we are back to rare pleco. The one on the
left is mostley common in Australia and only
like all live in fesh water not salt water like
oceans. Like all pleco this one does eat algae,
maybe i should tell you this and , all plecos eat
algae. This one is a good sized one not like big,
huge, or large is just good sized. It should go
for $150.00 because its rare and good sized.

Finaly your average home fish tank for Pleco
home habitat should kinda be like this. PLeco
love rocks and hiding places and there are
plenty. If you look closley on the floor in the
tank and the glass there are lots of snails.
Snails are also bottom feeders! That will make
a real good habitat for fish because, it will be a
nice clean environment. Check next page for
more cool fish.
