This story begins during a warm summer day, without a cloud in the sky, and a cool, calm breeze. On days like this, animals would normally play outside, and enjoy the blessing of a nice day, as it is quite uncommon. But not Maxwell, Maxwell was a timid cat, far too shy to speak with anyone, or make connections with people. He was abandoned, ever since he was born, he was left on the street, with no support from anybody, it was a cruel fate for Maxwell. So unfortunately as you would imagine, he did not have any friends. 

Maxwell would spend this nice day doing absolutely nothing, and he intended it to be no different from all his other days. Wake up, eat food, have time to himself, and then go to sleep, in an endless cycle. 

Then Maxwell heard something that grabbed his attention, scuffling, and playful barks from outside of his quiet, and dark alleyway. Maxwell carefully peaked out, and saw something that filled him with jealousy, two dogs were spending time together, throwing a red ball around, while happily dancing in the green grass. He wanted to join them, as he was quite bored, but then realized something, he was a cat. He was quiet, calculated, and calm. Dogs were.. Well dogs were rough, rowdy, and erratic!

Maxwell quietly sighed to himself, coming to the quick and careless conclusion that he could not play with them, because they had differences. So instead of going over to the dogs, and possibly making a new friend, Maxwell believed that it was prudent that they stayed apart. Maxwell curled up in a ball, thinking to himself, he was about to drift asleep when he felt a gentle tap on his back leg.
