Chapter 1 : a fright

Nothing could be bad in Mia's town, it was an uproar of enjoyment. She was 14 and had nothing to worry about. Those old thoughts of her parents sending her to boarding schools, or her "friends" bringing kiwis to stuff in Mia's face. She'd have red spots on her face, because she was allergic to them. Mia never got why her mom wanted her to drink those gross things like coffee, she said it tasted like burnt stuff and bitter sauce mixed together.
She could do everything but make friends, she really wasn't the learning type. But she loved learning hockey. She got past of all the other teams best players. One day she heard her mom talk to her father who was at work that day.
"Oh yes, I think she'd be living happily in her new school."
Live in a school? Mia plopped onto a bench as she watched the world spin. Once her mom hung she saw Mia had fallen to the ground like a tree.
Getting up after 2 minutes was a nightmare for her. It felt like getting CPR for no reason. Her mom kept pressing her like a squishy which had bones.
"Mom, where is this school I'll live in, will I be able to meet you?"
Her mom bent her head. "No," she said, "It's in Switzerland." Mia's eyes boggled at the thought. But her mom tried to calm her down, by saying she'll meet in the summer holidays. "And you're going in 2 weeks."
Chapter 2 : The plane ride

Mia stared at her luggage, she was traveling all on her own but she had 2 suitcases, a backpack and her mom's old purse to store her new phone to talk with her parents. Just when she got onto the plane, she heard her phone ring.
"Mia! Did you get on the flight?"
"Yes dad, I had trouble pushing the luggage cart and finding the plane but now I'm good."
"Bye hon, enjoy the new school."
Mia sighed and hung up the phone, then she dozed off.
When Mia opened her eyes she felt the plane land. She walked her way out of the plane and fought to be in front of the sea of travelers. Mia sat on the bench waiting for someone to come. As jetlagged as she was she couldn't stay awake, so she popped a candy into her mouth. While chewing the candy, she saw a man walk towards her. She sat up straight ready to talk.
"Mia Jamieson?"
Mia nodded.
"Come with me."
Mia followed the man, he looked like he came from 50 years back. Once they found the car, Mia told herself that it wasn't going to be a pleasant ride. It was very dirty and didn't look like anybody would ride in that thing.
"What's your name?"
"Charles, now get ready."
Mia clicked her seatbelt, sat up straight ready for driving. And they zoomed off.
Chapter 3 : The school

Mia had never been to a boarding school and that creep was coming to life. She looked out of the window then gazed at a tower. It was covered in gold borders but was very old indeed. Charles pointed, "school". Mia's mouth opened wide in disbelief. She smiled, maybe this might be fun after all. Then she saw something written in bold letters, Bellsone Boarding School. Mia's hands turned in her lap, and her fingers wanted to scratch each other.
When Mia went inside, she found herself near the headmaster.
"Mia Jamieson? My name is Mr. Parkston."
"Okay, Mr. Parkston."
The headmaster smiled, then a woman came and nodded at her while her brown curls bounced. She took Mia to the Fifth floor, room 10. Mia stepped in and then set down her suitcases. Then she refreshed herself before pulling the covers up to her neck. She closed her eyes, and thought about her mom all the way home.
She woke up to eat in the morning, and as she walked, she stopped to take a plate. She saw people run and have fun. It did not look like any of them were new to the school. She looked at the eggs on her plate and groaned. They didn't look like her mom's famous eggs. Then she felt her pocket buzz, it was a message.
Mia, are you enjoying the school? Don't feel bad, this place will be your new home.
Mia's eyes filled with tears, she wanted to go back home.
Chapter 4 : friends?

When Mia went to change that night, she saw her roommate read a book. The girl looked up and smiled, then gave a shy wave. Mia waved back. The girl had pretty blonde curled hair and blue eyes. Then she talked,
"Hi, I'm Elizabeth."
"I'm Mia."
Mia smiled, tied her ponytail and put on her new uniform.
"Follow me," said Elizabeth. Mia nodded and followed her. Elizabeth pointed to a girl.
"Hi! I'm Kiara."
Then a boy punched Mia and ran off smirking, Mia was doing a half backbend between Elizabeth and Kiara's hands. Mia loved Kiara's jet black hair and soft brown eyes. Mia smiled, "Thank you." They shook their heads, as if they were saying, 'no need come on.'
They walked to the dining hall for dinner and Mia started piling her plate with eggs, chicken, salad and pasta made of healthy rice. Then she saw Elizabeth and Kiara wave, SIT! Mia walked and sat down. A girl beside Kiara was someone Mia didn't know. The girl frowned at Mia and kicked Kiara very hard. Kiara frowned at the girl and kicked her then punched her lightly. Elizabeth laughed, "It's okay." She told Mia. Mia did her best to smile.
Chapter 5: What's that?

Mia felt bright and strong this morning, meeting new friends had never been so fun. Mia's day usually started with history, and that's where she was going this morning. As she went with Kiara and Elizabeth she saw a bone. Mia pointed, "Look!" Elizabeth shrugged, "maybe it's a dog bone". Kiara shook her head, "dogs are not allowed in school property". Just then the girl whom Kiara was wrestling with yesterday morning came over and talked to Kiara. Mia didn't understand, maybe a different language.
The girl looked like Kiara and talked like Kiara, then she walked away waving at Mia and Elizabeth. Kiara stared back at the bone, "this is very odd, ODD!" Elizabeth shook her head, "I agree Kiara, come on Mia should we tell the headmaster?" Mia thought she did want to figure out but it was her 3rd day, but before she knew it, she blurted out, "Yes!" Mia bit her lip, maybe not. Skipping history, they speed-walked to the headmaster's office. Mia didn't get why not to RUN! Mia got punched by a very cold hand, the same boy who punched her on her 2nd day.
Mia fell to the ground this time no back support. As she fell Elizabeth and Kiara ran to her as they were far away, yelling, "Help Mia! She is falling! Help her! HEADMASTER! PLEASE HELP HER!"

Chapter 6: medical room

Mia opened her eyes to find that she was in the medical room. She looked around and saw Elizabeth and Kiara waving at her calmly and breathing deeply. Then she saw the headmaster,
"Oh Mia, we are very glad that you're okay."
"Yeah but where am I?"
"Medical room, you've been asleep for a long time; that it's night."
Mia narrowed her eyes, worried, extremely WORRIED.
Finally Mia sat up straight and talked,
"I'd like to talk to who punched me with the headmaster beside. Nobody else."
"Ok"
Then she heard a loud sound,
"Grayson Michael Robert, PLEASE come to the HEADMASTER'S office, I repeat headmaster's office."
Mia sat straight ready to talk. Elizabeth whispered in Mia's ear, "Grayson is my STUPID cousin and I know for one fact you'll be his enemy."
Mia smirked, the way Elizabeth told her was just making her happy.
Mia got massaged and checked and got shots by the nurse as she talked with Elizabeth and Kiara. Kiara spoke,
"I believe you know that I have a sister, I talked to her today morning."
"Yeah she...…. OUCH!"
Mia stared at her arm; which was leaking with a little blood. The nurse smirked, "You'd better get used to that."
Elizabeth shook her head, "I never got that." Kiara frowned and agreed, "I have to tell the headmaster." Saying so, she ran off.
Chapter 7: Grayson and the nurse

Alright, Mia was a bit confused. This random nurse was acting very weird and the shots felt bad too. Just then Mia saw the headmaster run in with Kiara, surprised.
"Mia, I hope you're OK because this nurse is getting fired for sure."
Mia stared at her arm, it had a lot of blood. The headmaster started examining the shots, which were carefully dripping onto the soft test sheets. Then he had a answer,
"Mia, nothing is in here but guess what I found...
A bottle of poison in the clinic."
Mia breathed, at least it didn't go in her arm. then the door opened as Grayson walked in.
"Oh it's YOU Elizabeth and Random girl. Oh, hi, you," added Grayson laughing at Kiara. Elizabeth whispered, "He is the rudest boy in our good school, no space for bad Grayson babies." Mia giggled, Kiara stared away frowning at Grayson. Grayson saw Mia's arm and smirked, "Guess my aunt did a great job with your arm." Then he clapped his hands over his mouth and started running away.
Elizabeth shouted, "Grayson! Wait! Your aunt is our NURSE?!"
Elizabeth ran after him, Mia had to admit she was quick. Within one minute she was back with Grayson tied with a rope. The headmaster smiled, "Amazed by the fastest runner in our school eh?" He asked Mia. Mia, overwhelmed, could not talk to Grayson, "He can go, I guess." Elizabeth frowned and kicked Grayson hard. Mia gulped, "Why did you punch me?" Grayson smiled sweetly, "Bye! Have fun!" And he ran off, galloping.
Chapter 8 : library day

Mia and Elizabeth set off for breakfast and people looked up at her. Questions buzzed around such as: Who is she, when did she come, where was she in class yesterday? Mia quietly ate breakfast and Kiara came with the same girl as yesterday. The girl nodded shyly and spoke to Mia "Hi I am Kiara's twin sister Amravati, we are from India". Mia nodded and smiled, they did look very alike. Then Kiara smiled and sat beside Mia.
After eating breakfast they headed to the library. Kiara nodded, "on this day we find a book and read about it." Mia nodded of course she knew that, and Kiara shrugged and went on looking for a book as Mia looked for a book. The library walls were stunning, a beautiful pattern of carved flowers and books. When Mia touched the wall her hands bumped in and and she remembered about the beautiful flowers at home, her stomach hurt and she felt like crying.
But Mia didn't want to cry as a 14 year old in front of everyone. She pulled back tears and tugged her ponytail and gulped. In this big library, books were hard to find. Mia winced "fairy princess, flowers very interesting." Elizabeth came over and giggled, "our books are down there Mia." Mia smiled and tossed back her hair which itched her face. She licked her lips and walked down to touch a beautiful book.
Chapter 9 : THE BOOK

Mia gazed at the beautiful book and without even checking the title, she opened it and started reading dreamlessly. After 2 pages Mia whispered that it is a book about the school's secrets. Elizabeth and Kiara perked up with wide eyes and started reading with her. It was a very short book and when Mia got to the chapter about the secret base in the school her excitement bubbled up so much she had to put it in a mentally weird made up jar of her own.
Once they got out of the library the only thing they could talk about was the secret base that was in the book. They talked about the gold they would get if they win. But their happiness was blasted by Elizabeth who told them about the dangerous obstacles that they would face for this challenge. That scared Mia too but Kiara said risks are the best ways to win. "Kiara," roared Elizabeth, "care about your life". Kiara frowned, "important to me alright".
Mia stood there, looking angrily at the floor as Elizabeth and Kiara argued. Soon she couldn't stand it, so she stood in the middle and breathed as she told them to stop. They crossed there arms and parted directions and Mia was alone, again. She felt like she could have been kinder. That night Mia climbed into bed and Elizabeth looked at her, then tossed away her curly hair as Mia tearfully sunk her head into the pillow trying to be strong, to be calm.
Chapter 10: How time whizzes by

It only took a week for Elizabeth and Kiara to decide on going to the secret base as Mia stood in the middle. As weeks went by, people stopped staring at Mia. Mia used to say, "am I looking great?" as Elizabeth and Kiara laughed at the joke. Mia loved art class as much as home, it brought her home. Mia eventually stopped calling her mom so often as she got used to the community. "Mia come, what's going on?" Said Elizabeth stopping in her tracks
to see Mia slowly walk. Mia nodded at her signaling to come in the room and Kiara walked trying not sit but Mia made her. "She wants you to come back?" asked Kiara after dipping into the texts of the phone. Mia felt like sobbing into her pillow again after a month. "let's eat dinner'' Said Elizabeth breaking the silence and Kiara and Mia stared at each other awkwardly. As they walked in Mia relaxed, the smell of pasta and other foods filled her nostrils making Mia starve.
