A convenient untruth -. (n.d.). https://agreenerworld.org/a-greener-world/a-convenient-untruth/

Did you know as a human I average around producing four tones of carbon dioxide per year? You may ask what is carbon dioxide?

Carbon dioxide is a gas that acts like a green house when it enters the atmosphere. It traps heat from the sun allowing the earth to be habitable.

Carbon dioxide is a good thing in moderation because it allows us to live on this planet we call earth but, in todays life styles we are starting to produce too much carbon dioxide, which is causing the earth to get too hot. This is called global warming.

Carbon dioxide traps in heat in the earths atmosphere, which causes the earths surface temperature to rise. Which causes heatwaves, droughts, floods, sea levels to rise and affects human and animals habitats. How do humans produce carbon dioxide?

Humans produce carbon dioxide in many ways. One of the ways is breathing. Every time we exhale we produce carbon dioxide. Breathing is not the main reason global warming is happing. There are many ways that humans produce carbon dioxide, for example: single car use, energy use at home, and the foods we consume.

A car produces about 4.6 metric tons of carbon dioxide per year.

Instead of taking a car by your-self to school or work consider taking a bus, carpool, bike, or walk.

A typical family house produces around 7.5 tons of carbon dioxide a year. This is from energy uses. Which comes from appliance efficiency, lights turned on, water usage, and heating and cooling the house.

To reduce the amount of energy a house uses you can use natural light, turn all lights off when you leave a room, take shorter showers, adjust the thermostat, turn off water when not in use, and use appliances that are efficient.
