Defective Products: If the product you purchased is defective (faulty), you can contact the seller within 2 years to request a refund, exchange, discount or free repair.If the defect is a defect that exists on the date of delivery of the product and occurs within 6 months, this defect is considered to exist on the date of delivery.In defective products, the consumer has the right to choose. In other words, the consumer is free to exercise any right he/she wishes.

According to the Consumer Rights Law:
Price Difference: If there is a difference between the shelf price of a product and the cash register price, the price in favor of the consumer is valid. In other words, the price you see on the shelf must also be applied at the cash register.
Incorrect Price Tag: If the price tag of a product is incorrect (for example, the discounted price is written incorrectly), the seller is not obliged to sell the product at this price. However, if the error is noticed, the tag must be corrected.
Informing the Consumer: Sellers must state the prices of the products in a clear and understandable manner. Price changes must also be notified to consumers in a timely manner.

A conscious consumer conducts the following types of research regarding expiration dates:

1. Understanding Date Types:

Use By Date (UBD): Indicates that food products should not be consumed after this date.

Best Before Date (BBD): Indicates that the product may be safe after this date, but may experience a loss of quality.

2. Researching Product Storage Conditions:

Learns that food, medicine, and cosmetic products must be stored at the proper temperature and humidity.

Researches factors that accelerate spoilage (e.g., dairy products spoil quickly in hot environments).

3. Checking for Visual and Odor Changes in Food:

Researches odor, color, and texture changes to determine whether products that have passed their BBD are still edible.

What Can Consumers Do If They Have Problems with a Product?

Application: When consumers are aggrieved by a purchased product or service, they first try to find a solution with the seller. If this is not possible, they can apply to the Consumer Arbitration Board.

Right to Object: Consumers or sellers may object to the Arbitration Board's decision within 15 days. The objection is made to the relevant court of the provincial consumer arbitration board.

Markets are places where there is high competition due to their dynamic structure. In this competitive environment, it has emerged to prevent any victimization that may occur to the consumer.

Consumer is a person who acquires goods or services to survive. Everyone in society is actually a consumer. Consumer rights are the rights that every consumer has when purchasing goods or services, and these rights are universal.
