Arda and Zeynep started thinking about how to clean up the park. There was a lot to do and they decided to invite friends to help. But while their friends were coming, Arda and Zeynep went to the store to buy garbage bags and rubber gloves.

       - I collected four bags of garbage and plastic bottles in less than two hours, says Arda. 

       - And to my surprise, said Zeynep 

we covered a fairly large area of the park.

Arda ve Zeynep parkı ve çevresini temizlerken, oradan geçen bir adam ve karısı çocukları gördüler.

Adam:

- Senin gibi küçük çocuklar için harika bir iş çıkardın. Yardıma ihtiyacın var mı?

Arda:

- Teşekkür ederim. Ne kadar çok insan yardım ederse, mahallemiz o kadar temiz olur.

Adamın karısı şunları ekledi: "Gençlerin çevremize bu kadar önem vermesi harika. Sayenizde park artık çok güzel ve temiz görünüyor." Çocuklar, çalışmalarının fark edilip başkaları tarafından takdir edilmesinden mutluydu. Yaptıklarının toplum üzerinde olumlu bir etkisi olduğunu biliyorlardı.

Arda and Zeynep, after cleaning the park, felt proud of their work. A group of children arrived with flower seeds, suggesting they plant them near the benches. An elderly man proposed creating a community garden, sparking the idea of more collaboration.

This idea was liked by everyone. Thus, when they came to the park, they would check its cleanliness and also look after the plants, taking care of them."

Thanks to the children’s involvement and the community’s support, the park became a role model for other places in the city. Other neighborhoods began to organize similar cleanups, inspired by the children’s success. Everyone  has understood that taking care of the environment is a shared responsibility, and small actions can lead to big changes.

As the children watched the flowers grow, they began to learn more about nature. Neighborhood residents also met regularly at the park to join in on the maintenance work.

Arda and Zeynep were proud to be part of this transformation that began with a small act of kindness.

The park was now not only cleaner, but also more beautiful thanks to everyone’s efforts.
