Paștele comemorează Învierea lui Iisus Hristos, simbol al biruinței vieții asupra morții și al speranței mântuirii. În România, această activitate este marcată prin tradiția vechi, încărcate de simboluri religioase și culturale.
Pregătirile pentru Paște încep cu Săptămâna Mare, în care credincioșii participă la slujbele speciale din biserici, se spovedesc și țin post. În noaptea de Înviere, credincioșii merg la biserică pentru a primi Lumina Sfântă, moment plin de emoție și speranță. Tradiția spune că această lumină adusă de preoți simbolizează biruința binelui asupra răului.
