Background
Well, a little background Insite, I belong to a family of a farmer. The main occupation and source of income in my household is farming. And farming is not just a source of income for us but also the culture to the community I belong. In India there is saying that farmers are the backbone of India. In fact, more than 60 percent of India’s 1.3 billion people still depend primarily on agriculture for their livelihood (Ramzy, A., & Yasir, S. (2021, January 27)The New York Times

The Farming Laws
But in September 2020 an incident happened. The Indian government passed three farmer acts which were going to have the direct effect on the culture of the framing. So, basically these laws would minimize the government’s role in agriculture and open more space for private investors. The removal of the Minimum Support Price (MSP) would pave the way for corporations to take advantage of farmers, leaving them vulnerable to exploitation.

How Technology changed my perspective
I saw the news on of these change on the name of modernizing the farming. It was not an alarming new for me but one day my dad opened to me with his concerns regarding the change. He shared that a video on Facebook made him realize that these laws weren't meant to give farmers more freedom, but rather to benefit large companies by allowing them to control the terms of purchasing farming goods.

I primarily depend on social media for my news updates like most of the youth as evident by the data by (Pew Research Center. (2020, July 30).
My For You page was filled with content about the farmers' concerns and the worries all through India It wasn’t just the older generation; young people like me from farming communities got active on social media to spread the reality of those shallow words. People of the age of 19-24 94% of them uses social media regularly. (Pew Research Center).
So, It didn't take long for people to recognize the truth and the outbreak was seen all over the internet. In our social-media-driven culture, that’s the most popular name today HASHTAGS (CopyPress. (The hashtag)) .
So, the Hashtag of #NoFarmerNoFood was all over the twitter. Soon enough farmers from different parts of India came together to protest against it. The air of change and protest was so strong that people from different business too came at the Shembo border to support the protest. Their were Langar all over to feed the protesters and people from all over the India was supporting the protest. #Isupportfarmers was ruling the internet.
My way of Supporting
Me and my whole family went their to support the moment. It was really surreal moment for me. Challenging the government for the change felt really powerful.
We came back from there after 2 days but I was still actively supporting the whole protest on the internet. I was posting regularly on my social media to be the part of the protest.

It Became a Global Moment!!!
At that time I felt the quote by Houle, D. (2009, June 3). in Tiananmen Square and technology. E to my core that states
Humanity is more globally connected than it has ever been!
People from all over the world came together to support the farmers in this fight against injustice by peacefully protesting in their respective countries. Not just the farmers but a lot of global celebrities came forward to be the part of this moment and spread awareness and show their support by twitting about it.
