Chapter 1: The Mysterious Seed
One sunny afternoon, they stumbled upon a mysterious seed while digging in the garden.
Little did they know that this seed would lead them on an incredible journey through the fascinating world of life cycles and numbers.
Maya and Max carefully planted the strange seed in a pot and placed it by the window. Every day, they watered it and watched the seed slowly sprout.

They learned that plants start as seeds, grow into seedlings, and mature into plants that can produce their seeds. As they watched their seedling grow, they counted the days it took for each growth stage. "It took 5 days for the seed to sprout and 10 more days to grow leaves! 10 more days, it's mature," Max exclaimed. They applied their math skills, using multiplication and addition, to determine how many days their plant would take to mature fully. 10+10+5=25

One weekend, Maya and Max visited a beautiful butterfly garden. They were amazed by the colorful butterflies fluttering all around them. They learned that butterflies go through four stages in their life cycle: egg, caterpillar, chrysalis, and butterfly. As they walked through the garden, they counted the number of butterflies and used multiplication to figure out how many butterflies were in different sections of the garden. "There are 3 sections with 8 butterflies each. That's 3 times 8, which makes 24 butterflies!" Maya calculated. (8*3=24)

Back at home, Maya and Max discovered a tiny tadpole in their backyard pond. They decided to take care of it and watch it grow. They learned that frogs start as eggs, develop into tadpoles and froglets, and become adult frogs. "Let's see how many tadpoles become frogs in a month," Max suggested. Max counted 25 tadpoles in total.
