Once upon a time, in a peaceful village, there lived a little sheep named Steel.

Steel was different from the other sheep. While they played, laughed, and ran in the fields, Steel always stayed close to his shepherd, quietly following him wherever he went.

But sometimes, Steel felt lonely.

He saw the other sheep having fun together and wished he could join them. One day, he told his shepherd, “I want to be like the other sheep. I want to play with them.”

The shepherd smiled and said, “Steel, you are just fine as you are. Happiness comes from inside you, not from being like others. But if you want to be with them, you can go.”

Steel thought about it, but his curiosity grew stronger. 

So, he followed the other sheep, learned their jokes, and tried to make them laugh. Little by little, he started to fit in. He even trimmed his wool to look like them.

One day, while resting, Steel overheard the other sheep whispering.

“He’s not one of us,” one said.
“He’s just pretending,” another added.

Steel’s heart broke. He thought they were his friends! Angry and hurt, he ran away.

Meanwhile, the shepherd counted his sheep. One was missing. “Where is Steel?” he wondered, searching the farm. He asked the villagers, “Have you seen my sheep?”

Some shook their heads. Then, someone said, “Yes, we saw an angry little sheep go toward the old barn.”

The shepherd hurried to the barn. As he got closer, he heard crying.
