Once upon a time, in a city where neon lights shone brighter than the stars, a girl named Luma lived in a tiny apartment with her grandmother..
The city was always buzzing, always moving, and the sky above had long since been swallowed by smog and skyscrapers. No one in the city had seen a real star in decades.
Luma, however, was different. She dreamed of stars, read about constellations in old books, and drew shimmering galaxies on the walls of her room. "One day, I will see them for real," she often whispered to herself. But dreams in the city were easily lost, like dandelion seeds swept away by the wind....
One night, as Luma sat on her balcony, she noticed something unusual—a tiny glimmer in the sky. A star! Faint but real. Her heart pounded.
She reached out, and to her astonishment, the star wobbled, then drifted down into her hands like a firefly.
One night, as Luma sat on her balcony, she noticed something unusual—a tiny glimmer in the sky. A star! Faint but real. Her heart pounded.
She reached out, and to her astonishment, the star wobbled, then drifted down into her hands like a firefly.
Fearing it would vanish, Luma cupped the star and ran inside. She placed it in an old glass jar, and to her amazement, it didn’t dim. Instead, it flickered happily, filling her room with soft, silver light.
The next morning, she noticed something remarkable. Where the light of the star touched her drawings, the galaxies she had sketched the night before began to shimmer and move. The constellations twinkled, planets spun slowly, and nebulas swirled in brilliant colors. Luma gasped. She had never seen anything so beautiful.
Word of the glowing star in Luma’s apartment spread quickly. People came from all over the city to see the miracle. The mayor, the reporters, the scientists—all wanted to know how a real star had appeared in their smog-filled world. But Luma, afraid they would take it away, refused to reveal her secret.
