Once upon a time there lived an emperor on the top of a mountain, in a city with two towers. And one summer, that emperor went off to war and never returned.
The empress sent messengers in all directions to find her husband. The messengers went searching to the ends of the world and returned after a long time, without joy.. The empress had two children who were playing in the dust, when their father went off to war. Now they were grown up and ready for marriage. One had grown up in the northern tower , the other in the southern tower , and both were different in nature and thoughts, but the same in appearance and build.
They agreed to go throughout the world and look for their father. Their mother wept with joy and sorrow when she learned of their decision; with joy that she had such worthy boys, and with sorrow that she feared losing them.
But she advised them to keep together forever, as oxen keep yoked, and that the path of one should forever be the path of the other.

And she blessed them and he gave them permission to leave, and again advised them to go in unbroken company, and the boys set off. One was called Mureș, the other Olt. But they had barely left their fathers' city when they began to disagree on the way, for they were of different natures and thoughts.

And from there, from the top of the mountain, their paths diverged, for Mureș set off to the north, and Olt to the south. And Olt was quick by nature and he headed madly down the valley, towards the clear day. Mureș was dark and quiet like a peaceful night and he headed slowly, slowly, towards the north. After some time, however, Mureș missed his brother and his soul was saddened.

That is why he turned south to find his brother. And he never found it again, he even lost his way and went somewhere else, still calm and with a heart of peace. But their mother, when she saw that they had separated right from their parental home, ran to block their path, but there was no way she could reach them, especially since they were running in two directions.
