I didn’t want to move to a new house. But Mom and Dad say it will be a new adventure. I am not so sure though. 

    Will it look like our old house? Small, but not too small, and a beautiful sky blue color. Will it have a lush flower garden in the front? Will my bedroom have my favorite unicorn wallpaper?

    My thoughts were cut off when we pulled up to the new house. It is big and old! The house is yellow, like a big sunflower. The windows are tall and skinny like giant's eyes. It has a huge porch that goes all the way to the back. There are vines climbing up the sides of the house. And the yard is like a jungle! There are trees that go up, up, up to the sky, and bushes that are so thick you can't see through them.

    Dad helps carry my boxes to my new room. It is bigger than my old room; but the wallpaper is plain. Not a single unicorn in sight. But then... 

    In one of the boxes, I find my old unicorn blanket! I spread it across my bed and smile. This room is starting to feel a little more like mine. 

    After dinner mom and dad tuck me into bed. Just as I was falling asleep I heard spooky noises. I tried falling back a sleep, but I just kept hearing strange sounds. 

    Creak, drip, sniff, scratch. Was it a ghost or a monster with long claws?!

    I ran to Mom and Dad’s room. "There are scary noises in this house! I think it's haunted." I said. My dad told me there was nothing to worry about, but I was not convinced. So Dad gave me a flashlight. "Here if you hear a noise, shine the light. You'll see it’s nothing scary."

    I held the flashlight tight as I tiptoed back to my room. But right as I went past my brother's room I heard a CREEEAK!  "It is a ghost!" I thought. But I remembered what dad said; and I pointed the flashlight in the direction of the sound and found... 

    It was just the floor squeaking. Nothing to worry about here.

    Then as I was going past the bathroom I heard DRIP… DRIP… DRIP... "It is a swamp monster dripping on the floor!" I thought. But then I shined my light and found....
