One bright morning, Macy laced up her hiking boots and grabbed her backpack.
“Ready, Milo?” she asked her fluffy dog.

Milo wagged his tail. Today, they were heading into Willowleaf National Park!

One sunny morning Macy and her best friend Milo the dog woke up at their favorite camp site near their local state park. 

"Today's a great to go on an adventure!" She said

Milo wagged his tail in agreement. 

Macy laced up her hiking boots and grabbed her backpack containing all of her gear she would need for her and Milo to have a safe and fun adventure. 

As they began their journey, Macy and Milo began the trek towards their favorite hiking spot.

At the trailhead, Macy stopped and noticed a wooden sign:
“Please stay on trails.”
She smiled and said, “Got it! We’ll stick to the path so we don’t hurt the plants!” 

As they hiked along the trail, they spotted a family of deer grazing along the grassland.

Macy gently held Milo’s leash and whispered,
“Let’s just watch from here. Wild animals need their space.” 

Milo bowed his head along side her as the both admired the deer from afar. 

Along the path, Macy and Milo noticed a spot that contain a lot of trash, including a candy bar and a have eaten apple.

“Uh-oh,” Macy said, picking it up.

She tucked them into her pack.
“No litter left behind—not even someone else’s!”

This an example of how leaving no trace is imported for any sort wildlife adventures. 

Farther along, They passed a quiet group of birdwatchers with binoculars.

Macy tiptoed by and whispered,
“We’ll keep it quiet so everyone can enjoy the park.”

At a pretty rock formation, a sign read:
“Do not climb. Fragile area.”
“Looks cool, but we’ll admire from below,” Macy said.

When it was time for lunch, Macy found a trash and recycling station.
She sorted her waste and tucked food scraps back in her pack.
“Far from the water and campsites,” she reminded herself.
