Once upon a time, there was a little girl named Emma. She was born in a big city. She was nine years old. She was a child who loved her smartphone, her
colour TV, and her laptop.
Everyday, she watched cartoons,
played games, and listened to music on her DVD player. But she
wasn´t happy. She didn´t have real friends. She only talked to people on screens.

One day, she walked into the attic. Behind a box, she found an old mirror. When she touched it, a bright light came. She closed her eyes.
When she opened them, she was still a child, but everything looked different. The houses were small. There were no laptops or
smartphones. Everything was like she was in the 1980s.

She saw kids in the street. They played with balls and jumped rope. They had fun without screens. A girl said, “Do you want to play?” Emma said yes.
That afternoon, they ran, sang songs, and made a little house with boxes. Emma laughed a lot. She was very happy.

At night, she went to the girl’s house. Inside, there was only a black and white TV. There wasn't a microwave or CD player.
The mother cooked food. They ate bread and soup. They sat together and talked. Emma felt love.

The next morning, the mirror shone again. Emma touched it and came back. Her smartphone, DVD player, and laptop were still there, all looked as if she had only left two days ago.
But now she knew something: life as a child in the past was better. There were friends, games, and smiles.

Ten years later, Emma was a young adult. She went to university. She used her SAT nav, her smartphone, and her laptop every day.
But she felt lonely. Her friends only sent texts. No one visited her. No one looked into her eyes.
