For my two-year-old cousin, Everleigh, who is the main character in this story.
Main characters: My cousin, Everleigh; Liam, my two-year-old brother; and Xavier my 8-month-old cousin.

It was one sunny day. Everleigh sighed, "I wish unicorns could be real," she said. Then she thought about it. Everleigh had an idea that she could search for a unicorn. "I’m so smart!" she said confidently. She believed in unicorns and loved unicorns more than anyone. Her room was decorated with unicorns all around. She had clothes, toys, and lots of things. She wished unicorns were real.

Everleigh was changing into her outfit. She was so excited she was finally going to meet a unicorn. As she was heading outside, it started raining. Everleigh frowned.
Liam, her cousin, came and went to grab a snack and saw Everleigh laying on the couch. "Everleigh why do you have a big frown on your face?", Liam asked concerned. Everleigh sighed, "I wanted to look for a unicorn but then it started raining and now I can’t do anything." "Oh, I know how you feel. I know you were looking forward to looking for a unicorn," he responded. "I’m not trying to be mean, but unicorns aren’t real so stop thinking about it," Liam said loudly. Everleigh just stayed quiet.

Everleigh didn’t listen to what Liam had said, she didn’t give up. After the rain came a beautiful rainbow, it was so colorful and pretty. "Wow!" exclaimed Everleigh amazed." Even though Liam said that unicorns aren't real I’m not giving up. I’m still going to search for unicorns. Starting tomorrow I’m searching for unicorns!" Everleigh exclaimed.
The next morning Everleigh went on her journey. She checked the park, the creek, and lots of places but she couldn’t find any unicorns. Not a single one! Everleigh got sad, she tried so hard. She had her magnifying glass, her binoculars, and everything she needed but she couldn’t find anything. So, she went back to the park and checked again. But then suddenly she found some footprints, and it looked like unicorn footprints! "Finally, a unicorn yay! Now where is that unicorn?" Everleigh said. After a close look Everleigh found out that they weren’t unicorn footprints, they were horse footprints! There were horse footprints in the park because there was a horse visit at the park last week. Everleigh couldn’t believe it, maybe her cousin Liam was right, unicorns aren’t real.

It was the end of the day. She was so sad and hopeless. Her mom called her to bed. "Tomorrow I’m taking off all my unicorn decorations," Everleigh thought to herself as she layed on her bed.
She was sound asleep when suddenly there was a big bright light glowing outside! As she was stepping outside, you wouldn’t believe what she saw, a unicorn!
She couldn’t believe it. Liam and Xavier rushed outside. They couldn’t believe their eyes. Liam and Xavier sighed, "So you were right all along Everleigh, unicorns are real!" Liam and Xavier said surprised. "Sorry we didn’t believe you," they expressed. "It's okay," she responded
