This is Mr. Samsa, a man who lives in a small apartment with his family. In his family he has, his wife, son, and daughter. After Mr. Samsa's business failed, he stayed at home and made his son, Gregor, make the money for them. He likes to stay at home and read newspapers.

Ew! What is wrong with you?

On a random morning, Mr. Samsa woke up to his son as a cockroach. This made him really mad and frustrated. "Why did he turn into this disgusting creature? I cannot stay in this house right now." The disgust from seeing his son as a cockroach made him want to hit him. Mr. Samsa walked outside and sat on a bench to calm down.

This is Montresor. He comes from a family that many people respect. Montresor lives in Italy and it is carnival season. This means that people dress up and have fun to celebrate. During this season, he likes to go out and have fun with his friends.

I don't care about your family.

On a regular day, Montresor was out at the carnival, talking to his friend, Fortunato. They  hang out a lot, but today Montresor isn't really happy with Fortunato. He was upset that Fortunato was saying mean things about his family. To clear his mind, Montresor decided to step away and sit down on a bench outside.

This is Jack, who is a young boy. He was in a plane crash, so he is stuck on an island with a lot of boys. Since he has been stuck on the island, he has been trying to get the other boys to follow him. This isn't really working because they follow another boy, named Ralph, instead.

I need to show I have power and hurt that animal!

On the island, Jack tries to think of ways to gain as much power as he can on the island. He wants to use to violence to make the other boys want to follow him, but is too afraid to hurt the animals. Jack decided to step away from the boys and sit on a rock to think about how to hunt.

AHH!

Over each of the benches and rocks, a sudden thunder storm appeared. Montresor, Jack, and Mr. Samsa all got struck by lightning. This was not any kind of lightning, this teleported them into a magical world and it is up to them if they can return home.

Mr. Samsa, Montresor, and Jack all ended up in a park together. After introducing themselves, each of them looked around the park and noticed that there was no one else except for them. Suddenly, following striking thunder, a storm rolled in. This was not any kind of storm, this storm made a fog that made their problems hit them even harder.

Conflict

Not only was their darkest thoughts brought up, they could not stop thinking about it. Jack couldn't stop thinking about stepping on the pigeons, Mr. Samsa could only think about hitting his son, and Montresor could not stop thinking about killing Fortunato.

How do we return home?

We need to find a way to leave.

Soon, the three of them started to panic because they see that they are in a weird place. There is no one around them and they are very far from where they came from. " Are your heads hurting too?" Mr. Samsa questioned. Jack and Montresor answered in unison, "Yes." After the group found out all their heads were hurting, they decided to walk around to see if there was a way to leave.

Sorry, I didn't see you there.

As the three of them were walking, Jack bumped into a Monk, who was mediating under a tree. The Monk saw Jack's face and asked, "Why is there a frown on your face?" When Jack told the Monk about his thoughts, the Monk explained that the path of Right Action from Buddhism says not to harm other beings or animals, lie, and steal (Namchak). The Monk explained that this could help with his thoughts and gave the book to Jack.

After Jack learned about the Eight Fold Path, they continued to walk and saw a restaurant. They heard their stomachs make noises and went inside.

What is that?

The three of them ordered, but when the order came, Mr. Samsa realized that he got the wrong dish. He looked at the table next to him and saw that their dishes were swapped. As they were switching their dishes, the man noticed Mr. Samsa looking like he was in pain. The man asked, "Are you okay? You don't look so good." Mr. Samsa responded, "I just have a headache." The man sensed that it was more than just a headache and took out a book. The book didn't have a title, so Mr. Samsa was confused.

"This is the book of Li from Confucianism," the man said as he handed the book over to Mr. Samsa. The man could feel the problem Mr. Samsa was facing and said, "This book may help you get rid of your problems. There is a section that says if you show love towards your son, he will act to show love and respect in return" (“The Main").  Mr. Samsa took the book and the group decided to continue walking after eating.

I am so sorry.

While they were walking, they found an ice cream shop and decided to go in. As they walked in, Montresor bumped into a woman and knocked the ice cream out of her hand. "Let me buy you to another one," Montresor said.

While they were waiting, the woman look at Montresor's face and asked why he was mad. He replied, "I cannot stop thinking about getting revenge on someone back home" "I can't help you get home, but I have something for you," the woman pulled out a Bible and handed it to Montresor. "This page says that to feel better about yourself, you have to love everyone around you. Not only your friends, but also your enemies" (“Why"). Fortunato took the book, but didn't read it.

Rising Action

After they ate all their ice cream, another dark cloud rolled above them. Then, they all got struck by lighting again. This made their heads hurt even more and more mad. Then, a mysterious voice started talking to them. "If you don't get rid of your problems, you will be stuck here forever." Hearing this made them annoyed. "How are we supposed to get rid of our problems if we cannot go home?" Mr. Samsa shouted.

Climax

Another cloud rolled in, which made all of them try to think as fast as they could before more lightning came. "Fine! I love my son," Mr. Samsa shouted into the sky. The lightning struck again, making them feel like their heads were going to explode. "Stop trying to lie, you are going to kill us," Jack shouted in anger. "What am I supposed to do? My son is so disgusting, I want to beat him!" Mr. Samsa shouted back. Another cloud rolled in. Montresor shouted, "Stop fighting! You guys aren't making anything better."
