When Elizabeth first got a phone, she was 14 years old. She was so excited because all of her friends had a phone already, but she didn't. 

The next day at school, Elizabeth was so excited to show off her new phone to all her friends. She requested to follow all her friend's social media, but had yet to be accepted. 

After school, Elizabeth was going to spend time with her friend Grace at her house. Elizabeth asked Grace why none of their other friends had accepted her yet on their social media platforms. 

Grace told Elizabeth that they were not accepting her requests because they were using their social media accounts to make fun of Elizabeth and spread rumors about her. Grace does not follow any of them but was instructed to never tell Elizabeth. However, now that Elizabeth asked Grace to her face, she couldn't lie to her. 

Elizabeth was devastated and had no idea why her friends would make fun of her. Her and Grace went on a walk to decompress. Grace told Elizabeth they would say mean things about how Elizabeth got a phone later than everyone else in her class.

Grace also told Elizabeth that her friends were posting about Elizabeth's parents being poor and Elizabeth kissing a boy in their class. Both of these things weren't true, and they were spreading fake information. Elizabeth decided to stop talking to her friends, except for Grace. Grace decided to stop talking to the rest of their friends shortly after.

Elizabeth and Grace soon became inseparable and only spent time with one another. They started playing a game they found online called Minecraft. Elizabeth had already played when she was younger but stopped playing the game because none of her friends did. She got back into playing and taught Grace how to play as well.

Elizabeth and Grace started playing Minecraft through chat rooms with other people online. They could chat each other while playing the game and eventually created a call room where they could all talk while playing together.
