Once upon a time...

He should just push harder.

In a far away land there was a boy named Doodle. He was small and couldn't do what most boys could. His big brother wanted to help him become strong and "normal". Brother loved Doodle, but he didn't understand why Doodle wasn't trying harder to walk like the other kids. Doodle was weak and had trouble moving, but Brother wanted him to keep up anyways. "Why isn't he trying?" Brother said. "If he wants to be like us, he has to work harder!"

Why won’t anyone listen to me?

On a different faraway island, lived a boy named Ralph. His plane crashed, and so Ralph tries to lead the boys to keep them safe. “I thought they’d follow me, but they’re falling apart.” Ralph’s heart sank. His voice seemed to get lost in the noise of the jungle. The boys weren’t listening, and everything felt out of control. Ralph felt like he couldn't stop the chaos, which made him feel scared too.

Why do I even care? Everything’s fake anyway!
Montag lived in a world where firemen didn't stop fires. They started them. They burned books. Montag was one of these men. But one day, he started to feel strange inside. “There’s nothing real anymore. Just endless noise. Nothing I do matters... so why bother?” Montag felt like he was drowning in a world that didn’t care. The screens, the noise, it all felt like a dream he couldn’t wake up from.
Exposition

All of a sudden, a magical swirl of light appeared out of nowhere and swallowed the boys! They did not know what was going to happen to them and were afraid of what was coming next.
Conflict Introduced

Ralph, Montag, and Brother wake up in a quiet, glowing room. Candles flickered around them. Strange shapes were glowing under their feet. Before them stood an old man. The old man said to the boys, “You each carry a heavy feeling. To heal, you must first learn. Beyond this lake lies the wisdom of the world. You’ll make three stops, and then, if you’re ready, you’ll return.”
Conflict Introduced

Poof! Just like that, Ralph, Montag, and Brother found themselves sitting on a glowing bus. It wasn’t like any bus they had ever seen before. The seats were soft, and the windows sparkled with light. The bus hummed with magic, as if it was alive!
Conflict Introduced

This isn't where I thought I would go!
They all looked around, surprised and a little confused. The old man's voice filled their heads: "Beyond the lake lies the wisdom of the world." They were a little scared, but also curious. The bus began to glow before floating, and then their journey began.

Maybe I don't need to shout to be a leader.

The van brings Ralph to a quiet mountain with a little temple. A kind monk sits by the stream, watching the stream flow. Ralph sits beside him. The monk smiles and says, "One big idea in a religion called Taoism is Wu Wei. It means not forcing. The water leads without yelling," the Monk says (National Geographic). Ralph watches the water flowing easily around the stones. The monk explains that a good leader comes not from yelling, but from guiding with calm and care (Mark).

I know what I need to do!
After learning from the wise monk, Ralph got back to the van. He sits besides Montag and Brother, ready to share what he learned. Full of excitement, Ralph exclaims, "I learned something amazing! The monk told me you don't need to shout to be a leader. You can lead like the water, calm and gentle." Montag and Brother nod, thinking about the idea. Ralph felt peaceful. He now knows that leading doesn't mean forcing people to listen, but rather guide them like the calm stream.

I don't have to force change to show love!
At the next stop, Brother stepped in a forest where a small child laid on the grass. The child was tired. Brother frowned. "Why doesn't he just get up?" He asked. The woman then softly said, "One special idea from a religion called Buddhism is called The Middle Way. This means balance between pushing and protecting" (Nakamura). The kind woman knelt beside the child and helped him up. She explained that sometimes the best way to help someone is to find balance between gentle and waiting. Brother watched as he realized that the child didn't need to be pushed, but need someone beside him.

I know what I need to do!
After meeting the kind woman, Brother quietly climbed onto the van. When the van stopped for a moment, he turned to Ralph and Montag, ready to share his lesson. "The woman told me that helping others means finding balance," Brother mutters, "You can't push too hard, but you also cannot protect them from everything. It is about balance." Ralph and Montag nod, understanding what Brother meant. Brother felt lighter now. He didn't have to force Doodle to be like the other kids. He could help him gently.

Truth gives meaning. I don't have to run anymore.

At the third stop, Montag found himself under the stars in a quiet desert. The wind is soft, and the night felt calm. He was unsure of what to do next. Then a man appears. He smiles and says, "I am your guide. One important part of Islam is called Shahadah. Did you know that Shahadah is believing in one true thing. When you have that, you are never truly lost!" the guide exclaims (Macaulay-Lewis). The guide explained that believing in something real, like faith, can help find the way, even during the darkest times (BBC). Montag closed his eyes, took a breath, and felt something warm inside him.

I found meaning in my life.
Montag boards the van and sits back in his seat and watches the stars. He had learned something important from the guide and was ready to tell Ralph and Brother. He takes a deep breath before saying, "The guide told me that having belief in one true thing can help you find your way, even in the dark. It is like having something real to hold onto, no matter how lost you are." Ralph and Brother listen carefully to his words. They could see in Montag's eye that he was no longer running away from him problems, as he had found something to hold onto.
