Dedicated to my dog, Zeus

Exposition
Once upon a time, there were three men all in different realms and universes who all had a similar problem. Their names were Cassius, Beatty, and Jack.

Jack was alone on an island with a bunch of boys his age and no grown-ups at all.
What he thought was his chance of freedom, turned out to be more rules he had to follow.
Exposition

Ralph! Lead us!
Cassius lived as an Ancient Roman Senator.
At first, Rome had three leaders but two of them died, so they only have one leader left named Caesar.
Many people did not want Caesar to become an emperor, including Cassius.
Exposition

I love Rome!! My name is Caesar!!
Beatty lived in a place where books weren't allowed and firefighters burned books.
He is a firefighter captain and finds pleasure in burning books.
He also has a firefighter friend named Montag.
Exposition

Jack was upset.
Jack doesn't know how to balance his different ideas with Ralph and wanted to be the boss all by himself.
During a group meeting, Jack told the rest of the boys how Ralph was not fit to lead, in hopes of starting his own group .
As he finished his speech, he noticed a mysterious book appear next to him.
Exposition

Beatty could not forgive.
He found out his friend, Montag, who was also a fellow fighter, was losing interest in the firefighting job.
He also figured out that Montag liked to read books. This went against everything Beatty stood for. He felt like Montag betrayed his job and their friendship.
He believed the best thing he can do is plan an attack on Montag's home. As he told his firefighters the plan for attack, a mysterious book slipped under his door.
Exposition

I love books!

Cassius lost goodness.
Cassius thought he should have been leader instead of Caesar. Because of this, he started to believe that the only way to lead was to kill Caesar.
Out of jealousy, Cassius convinced Caesar's dear friend, Brutus, to go against him.
However, after his conversation with Brutus ended, Cassius found a strange book lying next to him.
Exposition

As each of them opened the book, a portal appeared and pulled them in. The portal had entrances to other dimensions.
They spun through a bright tunnel filled with stars and flying words.
Doors floated all around them, each one glowing and different.
Conflict Introduced

Ahhh!!
"Who goes there?"
"Who goes where? We are falling through a portal!"

Where are we?
All of a sudden, they stopped falling. The book that brought them to this mysterious place floated next to them.
The mountains were on fire, the ground was filled with coal, and a thick smoke formed a cloud around the area.
"You must understand" said a mysterious voice
"Who said that?" cried Jack
A god in the form of a simple man appears before them.
Conflict Introduced
"You can't leave this place until you understand what you did was wrong. To help you learn, you need to discover three different religions. This book will guide you on your journey."
The three men were confused. They believed they didn't do anything wrong. What decision could they have made that would have made them end up in some kind of fiery place?
They all followed the book out of fear.
Conflict

You must learn

I didn't do anything wrong!
Me too!
Me too!
The book led them down a path. As they walked they met Lao Tzu, a prominent teacher of the Tao religion (“Lao Tzu"). He then taught the boys about the Tao, or the Way, which is a path of living in harmony with nature and the rhythms of life (Sankheangaew). Lao Tzu taught them about the teaching of Yin and Yang. They learned that in Yin and Yang, opposites are needed to help everything stay balanced and keep harmony (Tao) . Jack realized that he did not have to fight Ralph for a spot as a leader because both of their different ideas help lead the group into a better direction.
Rising Action

They continued to follow the book down their path. The book then led them to Confucius, the figure of the Confucian religion. Confucius explained that like Cassius, he at his time also went through political troubles which lead to many losing what they thought was good and bad (Smith). Confucius taught them about leadership and how he believed true leaders needed to know what is good and bad, and have virtue(Gardner). This made Cassius realize that even though he has troubles with the politics of his time, he should not lose his goodness and try to kill his leader.
Rising Action

After their talk with Confucius, the book continued to lead them. As they walked down a path, they met Jesus, a teacher of the Christian religion. Jesus taught them about a key idea in the Christian religion called forgiveness. He told them that in Christianity, it is taught that no matter how bad an action might be, it can still be forgivable (“Forgiveness”). This made Beatty realize that he can also forgive Montag for liking books and did not have to hate him.
Rising Action

Climax
The boys continue to follow the book and end up at a dead end.
Suddenly, the God in a form of a simple man appears.
"You may have learned about religion, but have you truly learned?"
The book made a big shadow beast appear before them.
"You must battle this beast in order to go home".

You must battle!
Climax
They look at the beast in fear, not knowing how they will be able to defeat such a beast. They then realized they can use what they learned to defeat the beast.
