Leo the Cat was walking outside his neighborhood one day when he decided he wanted to check the community board for all of the neighborhood cats. Sometimes new neighbor cats would introduce themselves here, or old neighbor cats would ask others for help. When he got to the grassy field and checked the board, he was shocked at what another cat had wrote!

Leo couldn't believe his eyes! The note posted on the board said: "Melanie the Cat has been going to other cat's houses and stealing their food! If you see her, don't let her inside your home!" Leo knew Melanie, and knew she would never do something so mean. 

Just then, Melanie came to check the board as well. Seeing Leo holding the note, she said, "Anything interesting happening today?"

Melanie the Cat has been going to other cat's houses and stealing their food! If you see her, don't let her inside your home!

Leo wasted no time telling Melanie about the horrible things someone had written about her.

Melanie gasped and said, "I would never do that! I've offered my own food to so many of the neighborhood cats! Who would start such a rumor about me?!" 

Leo felt bad for Melanie and knew that others in their neighborhood were going to avoid her even though she did nothing wrong. The spread of misinformation was really really going to affect Melanie's life! When Leo went to crumple the note, he noticed a small pawprint on the corner... and it didn't appear to be a cat's pawprint.

Leo immetiately showed Melanie the pawprint on the bottom of the note. "This is not a cat's pawprint, someone outside of our cat community is trying to bring you down! But who?"

Melanie studied the note for a second, looking for patterns. Suddenly, she recognizedc it. "This look's like a dog's pawprint. To be exact, my neighbor dog's pawprint! His name is Chase! Let's go find him and talk to him!"
