To those who lit our path with care,
Whose wisdom echoed everywhere,
To patient hearts and guiding hands,
Who helped us learn and understand.
To dreams that soared and hopes that grew,
With every page we journeyed through,
We owe this work, both big and small,
To those who cheered us through it all.
With heartfelt thanks,

It was the first day of 7th grade, and the sun was just rising. The Bennett family was already wide awake. The four siblings—Jimmy, Noah, Ava, and Mia—were buzzing with nervous excitement. This year was special: for the first time, all four of them would be in the same school. Jimmy and Ava were twins, and Mia and Noah were younger by just a year. They were all moving up to middle school together.
Their parents had packed them a big breakfast and were snapping photos as the kids grabbed their backpacks. Little did they know, this school year would be anything but ordinary. It would be filled with adventure, mystery, and unforgettable moments.

After a week of classes, the siblings had started to find their rhythm. But one day, as they opened Jimmy’s locker, a small folded note fluttered out. “Come to the library after lunch. Alone,” it said. The handwriting was messy, and there was no name. Jimmy looked at his siblings. “This is weird,” he said. “Should we go?” Ava grinned. “Obviously. It sounds like a mystery!” Noah and Mia nodded in agreement. So, they made a plan. After lunch, Jimmy would go in first, and the others would follow quietly behind.
2. A Strange Note
The library was unusually quiet when Jimmy walked in. Rows of books stretched into the shadows, and the big windows let in soft afternoon light. He walked past the shelves slowly. Then, he heard it—a whisper. “Over here.” A kid about their age peeked from behind the nonfiction section. “You’re Jimmy Bennett, right?” Jimmy nodded. The kid introduced himself as Tyler and said, “I need your help. I think someone’s trying to steal something from the school.” Jimmy’s eyes widened. “What do you mean?” Tyler hesitated. “Meet me after school behind the gym. I’ll explain everything.” Then he ran off.
After school, the four siblings met Tyler behind the gym. “Okay,” Tyler began, “last year, a teacher found a hidden room in the school basement. But before anyone could check it out, it got sealed shut. I think someone’s trying to break in now.” He showed them a picture on his phone of a dusty old door and some strange markings. “I heard footsteps down there at night. And look—this was left outside the music room.” He held up another note, just like the one Jimmy got.
3. Secret Clues
“You’re the only ones I trust. Will you help me?”
The siblings looked at each other. Mia was nervous, but Ava was already nodding. “We’re in,” Jimmy said. “But we need a plan.” Over the next few days, the five kids met secretly during lunch and after school. They mapped out the school, watched teachers’ routines, and found a way into the locked basement hallway. The day of the mission came fast. With flashlights and a bag of snacks, they met in the janitor’s closet after school. “Let’s go find that room,” Noah whispered.
They crept into the dark hallway, hearts pounding.

4.The hidden room
The hallway was dusty and cold. Their footsteps echoed. At the end, they found the door from the photo—old, wooden, with faded red paint. “There’s a lock,” Jimmy said. But Tyler smiled and held up a small silver key. “Found it in the music room’s supply drawer. Don’t ask how.” He turned the key slowly. The door creaked open. Inside, the room was full of old papers, broken desks, and a huge chalkboard with writing still on it. It looked like an old classroom. On the back wall was a large map with a big red X.
They stepped into the room, looking around in awe. “It’s like time stopped here,” Ava whispered. The map showed the layout of the school from years ago. Underneath the red X, someone had written: “It starts beneath.” Mia pointed to the floor. “What’s under us?” Tyler pulled out a flashlight and found a metal hatch hidden under a loose tile. “This might be it,” he said. As they opened the hatch, cold air rushed out. A narrow ladder led into the dark. “This is getting spooky,” Noah said. “Exactly,” Ava grinned. “Let’s go.”
