So’Raya’s Magic Moment is a tender, empowering story that helps children understand seizures with compassion and clarity. With vibrant illustrations and gentle language, this book celebrates every child’s bravery and shows that true magic lies in being yourself.

So’Raya was a bright, bouncy little girl
who loved to color, sing, and wear sparkly shoes.
But sometimes something strange happens. So'Raya's body would stop moving, or her eyes would blink really fast. Sometimes she felt tired and dizzy afterward.
“Do they hurt?” Asis asked.
“Nope,” said So'Raya. “But sometimes I need to rest after.”
Asis nodded. “Like when I get sleepy after a big run?”
“Exactly!” said So'Raya.
“My brain needs a little break sometimes. And that’s okay.”
"Can we still play and have fun?" Asked Asis,"We sure can!" So'Raya replied eagerly. "Let's go play then," said Asis excitedly.
So'Raya's teacher had a special plan to help.
She kept a cozy pillow just for Mila and a soft bear named Buddy Brave.
If So'Raya had a seizure, everyone stayed calm, gave her space, and waited with love.
Teacher also made a chart to remind So'Raya and others of things she could do and things she should avoid doing.
Things So’Raya Cannot Do (or Must Be Careful About):
1. Swim without an adult close by
2. Climb too high on playground equipment alone
3. Watch flashing or very bright lights for too long
4. Skip her rest time when she feels tired
5. Stay up too late
6. Go places without someone who knows about her seizures
7. Forget to take her medicine (if prescribed)
8. Hide how she feels when her body needs a break
9. Play too roughly during a 'magic moment' day
10. Be left alone when her brain needs rest
Things So’Raya *Can* Do:
1. Sing, dance, and play with her friends
2. Use her words to say how she feels
3. Rest when her body needs a break
4. Read stories and draw beautiful pictures
5. Teach others about 'magic moments'
6. Laugh, smile, and share hugs
7. Help her teacher and classmates understand seizures
8. Play with toys, puzzles, and games she loves
9. Wear her favorite clothes and feel proud of who she is
10. Be brave, kind, and magical—every single day
And so, after a long day of playing with her friends, dancing in her sparkly dress, playing with her dolls.........
...hiking in the woods near to home......
....baking delicious donuts with mom.
