“Wow! This campsite is absolutely beautiful! There’s so much nature, a gorgeous beach, and the cleanest bathrooms and showers!” I gushed as I peeked over my mom to see her phone. “ Yes, we’ll be going there today. It’s in London Ontario.” my mom said calmly. “ Wait what?! You never told me that! Yahoo! These will be the funnest days of my life!” I exclaimed. But let me tell you how disgusted I was on that camping trip.

It was a lovely, cloudy day. The sun looked like it decided to take a nap under its fluffy blankets.I had just hopped onto the car after carrying our sleep bags, food, and camping necessities. Yup! You heard that right! I’m going camping! Even though I was even more excited than a detective finally solving a mystery, I absolutely hated the fact that we were going to have to drive an eternity to get to our campsite. Did you know that I’m super impatient?

I tried to fall asleep so time could pass by faster, but that was a huge challenge. Harder than climbing Mount Everest. No, harder than finishing a whole family size Doritos chips. My dad had put on super loud music, while screeching along at the top of his lungs. Yikes! My eardrums would shatter into pieces if I was sitting in the front! I leaned over to see if my mom was wearing ear buds because I was sure she would’ve smashed that radio into pieces by now!But surprisingly, she was sleeping! I was so annoyed, I wanted to hop out the window into another car that was NOT playing ear murdering music! I decided to read a book, but things went downhill quickly. I felt like I was going to barf out my peanut butter & jelly sandwich I had for breakfast. Ewwwwww!!! After 10 minutes, I was able to bribe my dad with 5 dollars to turn off the music. I shut my eyes and tried to fall asleep. After 25 minutes, I finally started to doze off. ZZZZzzzzzzz…After we finally reached our destination, we unpacked our food, pillows, and other stuff. I sat down on a bench feeling exhausted.

“No resting! Come help me set up the tent.” My dad said. I groaned, and helped my dad by handing him multiple things when he needed them. After we finished, we took a nice walk around the campsite with my friend’s family. The sight was very rusty. It looked like a wrench that has been buried in dirt for 100 years. It looked NOTHING like the images I saw on my moms phone.
