Chapter 1: A Short Run

    Dawn arrived and Sonic was already up. He had already run up the mountain he usually went to when the sun was arrived.

    Sonic did a few stretches and at that moment, the sky was becoming lighter and a small amount of the sun's light slowly spread across the plains below.

    The second the sun rose above the horizon, Sonic sprinted down the mountain, through a valley, and across the plains.

    "This is boring," said Sonic. "I think its time I gave it an extra boost."

     So Sonic ran even quicker. About a minute later, he

came to a screeching stop - just in time to come in front of Tails.

    "Whoah Sonic! You crashed into me!" exclaimed Tails jumping back. "Sorry buddy! Hang on, what are you doing this early? You know I like to have my runs around this time," said Sonic.

    "Well, I wanted to test an invention outside and since I couldn't wait, I decided to do it earlier. Do you want to check it out?" asked Tails.

    "Sure, I guess it can't hurt to see what you're working on for little while. But just for a bit. Afterwards, I'll have to get back to my run," said Sonic. "Don't worry, it won't even take 5 minutes," said Tails pulling something out of

the bag he was carrying.

    "Meet my latest invention: The Chaos Emerald Tracker 2000!" said Tails enthusiastically. Sonic just stood there, staring. "What's wrong?" asked Tails his face dropping.

    "Don't you already have something like that?" asked Sonic. "Uh, yeah," replied Tails slowly, "But this one is an improved version! It's scanners shows clearer results if we pick up on anything!"

    "Okay, okay. What else?" said Sonic looking in another direction and using one hand to shield his eyes from the blinding early morning sun as Tails continued to talk.

    "Not only that, but the radar can go further distances, like, we'll say 20 miles away! Its super cool!"

    Tails kept going on and on, until he heard a beeping sound. "What's that?" asked Sonic suddenly paying attention again.

    "I-I-I don't know! Its coming from the device and it looks like.. It's going to explode!"

    In panic, Sonic tried to run, but it was too late. It was a loud explosion in their area. Tails groaned. "At least it wasn't that big of an explosion," he said.

    Sonic shook his head rapidly and looked at Tails. "How did that happen?" he asked. Tails looked at the remaining parts of his new invention and studied it closely. It wasn't long before he replied, "My machine had a virus in it! Eggman must be behind this! Of course he wouldn't want

us to get to the Chaos Emeralds first."

    "Well, let's go and teach him a lesson," said Sonic stretching. "But what about your run?" asked Tails.

    "There's always another time for that. Now let's go!" said Sonic as he ran off with Tails behind him.

Chapter 2: At Eggman's Base

    It wasn't long before Sonic and Tails arrived near the entrance to Dr. Eggman's "secret" base.

    "Do you think he's here?" asked Tails. "Of course he is," Sonic replied. "I saw this new base on one of my runs the other day. Eggman had already been setting it up.

    "But I have to warn you, like every other new base he makes, this one's got advance security and possibly more dangers. So, just stay alert."

    "Got it," said Tails. Then he and Sonic snuck past a robot guard, while trying to get into the base.

    "We're in," said Sonic looking around. Severals corners, turns, and twists surrounded them. It was like a metallic

maze. Luckily, Tails scanned the area and uploaded a map that would eventually lead them to Eggman. At least, that's what they thought.

    "Let's go in this direction," said Tails. But that was quickly a mistake because a group of Eggman robots were at the corner Sonic and Tails turned to.

    "Uh oh," said Sonic and then he immediately rolled himself into a ball and smashed the robots doing a spin dash.

    "Well, at least we're out of that jam, but I think we've gathered some attention. Look around!" said Tails. More robots from different directions surrounded them.

    "Well, at least we have more robots to play with," said

Sonic getting ready to fight.

    "Sonic, wait!" said Tails. But Sonic was already smashing robots. Two robots ambushed him from behind and then a larger robot grabbed him. "Oh no, that's no good," said Sonic. "Help!"

    No sooner as he said that, Tails got a bomb and threw it at the robot. It exploded and Sonic was free. "Thanks buddy," said Sonic. "Don't mention it. Also, you'll have to owe me and let's get out of here," said Tails.

    Sonic and Tails ran as fast as they could from the hood of robots. Soon, there were no robots to be seen and they were close to Eggman. Still, that's what they think.

    "I think this is the place," Tails said. "Perfect. And I don't

think Eggman's here, so we might as well smash some stuff to surprise him," Sonic.

    "You don't need to do that," said a voice. "I'm already here." Sonic and Tail jumped back. Eggman was somewhere in the room. "Where are you Egghead? Show yourself!" said Sonic.

    "Now, now Sonic. No need to be feisty," continued Eggman. "Why you and your little friend here have fallen right into my trap. If you want to teach me a lesson, then try to do that while you defeat my robots."

    Suddenly, robots were appearing in the room. Sonic and Tails were surrounded once again. Eggman's laughter echoed through the room. "Good luck Sonic!"

said Eggman, "and one more thing you should know; Look up."

    When Sonic and Tails looked up and they both saw something that made them gasp. 3 Chaos Emeralds in transparent cases hanged high above them.

    "So, I guess we've found out a reason why Eggman put a virus in my device," said Tails. "Yeah, and he's given another reason on why we should fight," said Sonic.

    Sonic smashed several robots charging at them right away. Tails got a laser ray and started firing at some robots. One shot accidentally hit an electrical tank.

    "Now look at what you've done," said Eggman, "You hit the energy circuit. Now this place is going to blow!" In no 

time, Sonic grabbed Tails and zoomed out of the room, right before the explosion.

    The explosion affected other parts in the base and soon, most of the base was exploded. Fortunately, Sonic and Tails quickly got out of the base. Including Dr. Eggman.

    The two of them turned around the see Eggman in the air on his Egg-mobile. "You two may have won this time, but remember, I still have the 3 Chaos Emeralds. Bye!" said Eggman flying away.

    "Well, that's it. What do you think we'll do? Eggman has 3 emeralds and we have none," said Tails. "Don't worry. We'll get Eggman next time. Right now, I think a chili dog 

is in order," said Sonic.

Chapter 3: Running From Amy

    At one of Tails' many home labs, Tails was working on a new invention until he saw something move at a corner. He carefully approached it and saw that it was Sonic hiding behind a plant.

    "What are you doing in here?" asked Tails. "I'm hiding. From Amy! I think I accidentally triggered her craziness. I guess that's what I get for turning her down so many times," said Sonic shrugging.

    "I guess that's why Amy's at the door. I was going to answer her later-" "She's here?!" asked Sonic crouching behind his hiding spot even more. "You've got to help me Tails!"

    "Oh, okay. I have a warp ring somewhere.."

    "Be quick! I swear I saw Amy looking through the window and-"

    There was a loud a crashing and a voice. "Correction. Amy is inside the house. Not at the window."

    "Oh, come on! I know you're after Sonic, but do you have to break the door?" whined Tails. Sonic gave him a look. "Okay... Run Sonic!" exclaimed Tails, but Sonic was already cornered at the wall by Amy.

    "Now its time to- oof!" said Amy as she got knock over by Tails and he grabbed Sonic's arm. Then he threw a warp ring and pulled Sonic inside of it.

    "Thanks Tails," said Sonic. "You're welcome and now 

you owe me twice. You can hide here in Green Hills for now," said Tails.

    And that's when a glow appeared behind them with a shadow. "You thought you got rid of me, huh? You're wrong. Hehehe!"

    Sonic smacked his face. "Seriously, she doesn't give up," he said. Then he grabbed Tails and started to run, with Amy following behind. 

    "How in the world is she fast like that?" asked Tails glancing behind. "Don't worry Tails. I have a plan," said Sonic holding another warp ring and tossed it. 

    Sonic and Tails got transported to Hilltop Zone, but Amy sooner or later found them forcing them to go to 

Emerald Hill. Amy tracked them down there too leaving them to go to Lost Valley. It went on like this until they finally reached the mountains

    "I'm tired! Can't we take a break?" asked Tails. A glow appeared again. "No," said Sonic panting, "she's not going to let us have one." Then he collapsed on the ground in defeat. Amy was about to grab Sonic when Tails stopped her.

    "Wait! Amy, I know you're annoyed with Sonic and want to spend time with him, but now is not the time. If he doesn't want to, then it's fine. There's always a next time.

    "I can't promise you that he'll go somewhere with you soon, but he will eventually. When he wants to. Just be

patient. Right now, give him a rest," said Tails.

    Amy thought for a moment and asked, "Are you really going to find time to go somewhere with me. But, its just not right now?"

    Sonic got up to his feet and replied, "Of course I will Just, no more crazy fan girl instincts from now on, okay?"

    Amy chuckled. "I can't promise that either. Besides, you've unleashed it again. Hehe."

    Sonic sighed. "I guess I deserve that," he said as Amy gave him a hug.

Chapter 4: Welcome to Sonic's Life

    Sonic ran across a field until he saw Dr. Eggman causing destruction nearby. He could hear the yells and shouts from him, which made it look like he was chasing someone.

    "I demand you to stop right now! It will all be well if you listen - for both you and me," Sonic heard Eggman say.

    When Sonic got closer, he saw that Eggman was chasing a mint green hedgehog, along with two cats - one had creamsicle colored fur and the other was grey, but looked like a plushie.

    "Stop it right there Egghead!" said Sonic skidding to a

stop. "I told you to stop calling me that!" Eggman grumbled. "None of this is your concern!"

    "You mean I would rather let you chase an innocent green hedgehog and her cats while I sit by and do nothing about it? You think about that yourself," said Sonic.

    "You've got a point there, but you don't understand!" said Eggman, "this hedgehog is a lot like you. One who is filled with incredible power, including her cats!"

    But Sonic didn't listen. He smashed Eggman's robots to bits and then hit the vehicle Eggman was in.

    "Oh! You'll pay for this you hedgehog! I'll be back for the green one later!" said Eggman shaking his fist.

    "You always say that, yet I never do," said Sonic. Then he turned around to face the mint green hedgehog who was nearby.

    Her hair was very  long that she could sit on it and she wore a green shirt with frilly sleeves and a purple skirt. Her eyes were an emerald green and she wore brown slipper and white gloves.

    In her hair, she was wearing two hair clips - a green dolphin one and a light green butterfly one with a purple body, and dark green edges.

    "Hello. I saw you got disturbed by Mr. Mustache Guy over there and had to help. You okay?" asked Sonic.

    "Yes. Thank you for rescuing me," said the hedgehog in

a soft voice. "You know, we could've easily handled that on our own," said another voice. It was the creamsicle cat who spoke, which spooked Sonic a little, but he was used to things like that.

    "Ha! Creamsicle, you were running for your life! And you're supposed to be an 'ultra powerful' guardian for Mila!" This time, the grey plushie cat spoke.

    "Creamsicle! Callie! Don't be like that," said the hedgehog, "you're supposed to say thank you to Mr..?"

    "Sonic. The name's Sonic the Hedgehog."

    "Oh. Well, thank you Sonic again. I'm Mila Muffin. The end name's a little strange, but there's no way my family can help it; we love muffins," said Mila. 

    "I see. Anyway, why was Eggman chasing you? Did you want your cats? Either the talking cat or the alive talking cat plushie," said Sonic.

    Mila sensed that he was trustworthy, so she told him everything - that she was a powerful being called a Crystallite and told him everything there was to know about her species.

    "When I arrived here, the person you call Dr. Eggman ambushed me, Callie, Creamsicle, and Carlos," said Mila. "Who's Carlos?" asked Sonic.

    And that's when a cheetah wearing orange sport shoes white gloves, and a goofy, cheery smile swung in. "I'm Carlos!" said the cheetah.

    "I met him earlier. We became friends immediately, but when Dr. Eggman arrived, he didn't have the courage to stay and help, leaving us behind," said Mila giving Carlos a look.

    "Hey, don't blame me! I got scared and kind of forgot about you three, so that's why I ran," said Carlos innocently, but with a smile.

    "Well, it's a pleasure to meet you Mila, Carlos, Callie, and Creamsicle," said Sonic, "by the way, I think you should stay close near me. Egghead said that he'll be back for Mila and he knows that the cats are with her. He must've seen Carlos you guys too, so..."

    "Its fine. My new house is almost finished, so I guess

I'll have to wait," said Mila. "I have an idea!" said Carlos. "Mila is new to this area and I kind of am too, so why don't we have a small welcome party? Nothing much."

    "That's not a bad idea! What do you think Minty?" asked Sonic. "Please do not call me that and I'm not sure," said Mila nervously, "I don't really like big and loud parties, especially if they're thrown for me, but if its going to be small, I'm fine with it."

    "Excellent! I'm going to find an outfit to wear!" said Creamsicle. Callie rolled her eyes. "I hope this'll be enjoyable," she said.
