To my Husband,
May we always follow the sound of the river and discover what’s waiting around the next bend.
Adventure buddies for life!

The first sound I heard that morning was the cheerful song of birds, calling me awake. Behind their music, I heard the soft babble of the river nearby, whispering, "Wake up! A new adventure is waiting."

I peeked out of the tent and smiled. My husband was already sitting by the fire, carefully getting breakfast started.
"Morning, sleepyhead," he said with a grin.
"Good morning," I yawned. "Do you hear the river? It sounds so happy today."
"It’s telling us we’ve got a fun day ahead," he replied.

"Morning, Sleepyhead"
"It's telling us we've got a fun day ahead!"

The cast-iron pan sizzled as eggs and bacon cooked to perfection. We sat together on a wooden bench with the perfect red and white cover, eating our breakfast while watching the sunlight dance across the river.
"This is my favorite kind of morning," I said softly.
"Mine too," he smiled. "Just you, me, and the world out there waiting for us."

After breakfast, we laced up our hiking boots and set off down the trail. Around every corner was a new surprise, bright wildflowers, towering sequoias, and even a curious chipmunk that scurried across the path.

"Look over there" I whispered, pointing to a deer quietly eating.
"It’s like we’re the visitors in their home," he whispered back.I never knew what we would find, but that was the fun of it. Every step felt like a little mystery waiting to be solved

As the sun started to dip behind the mountains, we returned to camp. The fire crackled and glowed as we roasted marshmallows, making the perfect gooey s’mores.
"How many marshmallows is too many?" I laughed.
"When you’re camping, there’s no such thing as too many marshmallows." he said

"How many marshmallows is too many?"
“When you’re camping, there’s no such thing as too many marshmallows.”
Finally, it was time to rest. I snuggled back into my sleeping bag, listening once again to the gentle song of the river. The same river that had woken me up was now softly lulling me to sleep, whispering, "Tomorrow is waiting with more adventures, just step outside and explore."
