The dream 

“I want a dog,” said Niki.

She had just lost her beloved grandfather, and the house felt quiet and empty.

Every night, she dreamed of her grandfather. In those dreams, he smiled at her… but he was a dog. A small, white, gentle dog.

She told her parents about the dreams. At first, they thought it was just grief. But eventually, they agreed to get her a dog.

The minute Niki stepped into the pet store, her eyes locked with a small, lonely white dog.

Her heart raced. It was the dog from her dream.

“That’s him,” she whispered. “That’s Grandpa.”

Without a second thought, they brought the dog home.

In the car, her dad asked, “What should we name him?”

Niki smiled and said, “Leo.” Her grandfather’s zodiac sign was Leo.

A Familiar Soul

As soon as they reached home, Leo ran around with joy as if he had been there before.

Days passed, and something strange began to happen.

Leo barked when Niki skipped meals, just like Grandpa would remind her.

He looked sad when her dad was upset and wagged his tail only when the family was happy.

It was like he knew them deeply.

Doubts and Dreams

One day, Niki’s dad, Krish, sat on the couch, frowning. “This dog is... strange,” he said. “Almost like he’s watching over us.”

Niki took a deep breath. “I’ve been having dreams about Grandpa. In every dream, he tells me he came back to protect us. I think Leo is him.”

At first, no one knew what to say. But deep inside, they began to feel it too- the warmth, the comfort, the familiar love.

From that day on, the family treated Leo with a little more wonder and care.

Whether or not he was truly Grandpa, Leo brought something special into their lives healing, love, and protection.

And every time Niki looked into his eyes, she smiled.

Because no matter what, her grandfather was still with her.
