Today, I woke with eyes to see,
The wonder in the world, and 

inside me.
My room was warm, the sun peeked in,
I stretched and smiled with joy within.

One bright smile to start the 

day just right,
A small kind act, a big delight.
I saw my neighbour planting trees,
I waved hello and said, "Good morning, please."

Two hands to help, to hug, to share,
To tie my shoes or brush my hair.
My friend was sad and dropped his toy,
I picked it up and brought him joy.

Three leaves from our gumtree fell,
Each whispering a story to tell.
Grandma says, "The trees are wise,"
“They hold the secrets of the skies.”

Four colours swirl on paper bright,
Red, black, yellow, full of light.
I drew our land, the sun, the sea,
My family's love surrounding me.

Five stars shimmer in the sky so high,
With dreaming stories floating by.
Bunjil the eagle flies above,
Teaching us respect and love.

Six hugs I give with all my heart,
To family near and far apart.
One for Mum and one for Dad,
For Nan and Pop, and friends I had.

Seven books on my bookshelf stand,
Full of stories, wild and grand.
Adventure tales, and ones of peace,
Each one helps my joy increase.
