lucky duck!

I crossed my fingers in class hoping my teacher would not say what i expected her to say...
"Class, it has been a wonderful year, but now its time for a change.." There, she said it, im going to be in another classroom, a grade ahead of my best friends Elizabeth, Mia and Emma, im two years older than them, and today im passing over to sixth grade.
Chapter 1
Classroom change!

Bye class!

Sophie
They already knew it, so they didn't really talk about it, they knew how i felt.
"Sophie, Olivia and Kasey are moving to sixth!" what?!
"Lets all say goodbye and wish them a wonderful year full of knowledge and fun!" Said my teacher. Olivia and Kasey stood up with me to the front of the room, they both walked with their hips in constant exaggerate movement and tossing their hair. Olivia and Kasey are the mean girls in our class, also, they like to show off their every new thing, from a tiny hair clip to a new tablet.
I naturally avoided any of them. the only thing that REALLY made me happy of passing to sixth was that they weren't passing too (i was so wrong, apparently) i really never knew their age, i refused to ask anything to any of them, i knew they'd just turn up on me.
Olivia did a mean, teasing wave at me, and Kasey frowned at me, i just looked away, not at my friends, because i might cry, not at my classmates because i would be stressed, i snapped my eyes tight shut and i didn't see anyone else.
That night, i was silent, if i talked, i might say something wrong or i might just cry. My parents knew i was moving to sixth.
"Are you ok, Sophie?" Asked Mom when she noticed my gloomy face,
I looked down at my pumpkin stew,
Chapter 2
sensitive Sophie

i wanted to say "how well do you think?!" But of course, that was kinda mean,
"If getting sent to a grade ahead all your friends and instead, you have to be with meanies is being ok, then im perfectly" i said, it was kinda better. suddenly i felt a lump in my throat, that meant that anything someone said about school was going to make me cry.
My parents exchanged glances, then, to change the subjet, my dad said: "ah... the spring breeze, look at all those blooming flowers on the yard!" (My dad is obsessed with nature, he mentioned even the littlest
Thing whenever he had the chance) i refused to look, i couldn't, mom looked at dad like "you know THAT won't help her right now"
Mom reached over and smoothed my curly, fluffy, reddish hair, "grandma is coming over tomorrow, you know" said mom, i didn't say anything back.
Mom and dad looked deflated.
The next day was saturday, and every saturday, grandma comes over for dinner. I helped mom cook baked potatoes and salad. But while i was cutting the tomatoes for the salad, i cut my finger a bit.
"Oh!" I cried i put the knife down in the chopping board and runned to the bathroom to splash cold water on it, then i ran to get a band-aid and covered my cut, it was nothing crazy, dont worry, but it did hurt a lot!
When we were setting the table, i carefully grabbed the salad bowl trying not to touch it with my hurt finger, i almost dropped the bowl, but luckily, made it safely to the table. As grandma arrived, she sat down, helped herself with some salad, and smiled at me, i did a nervous smile back. We ate in silence
Until grandma glanced at me and smiled, then she asked ”how was school today? Did you have fun with your friends?” She said
Did she have to mention THOSE two things?!
I looked away so grandma wouldn’t see my tears, until it was too much, “i need to go to the bathroom” i said really teary.
In the bathroom, i wiped my tears all away, cried some more “shape up, Sophie! Its not the end of the world!” I whispered to myself. When i got back to the dinner table, everyone was looking at me.
“My, whatever happened there, Sophie, are you OK?”
Asked my grandma softly,
“Yes, i just needed five minutes” i said, much more calmed down, but i was still sensitive...
“Why don’t we talk about something else…” my mom said, she did a short pause. “And, how is Andrew?” She asked grandma, Andrew is my grampa, he got sick a few weeks ago, he is in the hospital recovering, but THAT also made me sad. “He is perfectly” said grandma. I got up briskly from the table, i didn’t want to have to go to the bathroom again just so no one will see me crying, i picked up my plate and
Went to my room.
When i was in bed, i heard grandma leaving, mom and dad led her outside, “why, that was quite an attitude coming from Sophie!” Said grandma
“She had a difficult day, you know, yesterday her teacher moved her to sixth grade, but she wont be with her best friends, instead, she will be with some bullies, so she is pretty sad” said mom
“Oh, my! Poor little kid!” Said grandma
“Yes, i heard her crying in the bathroom when she asked for five minutes” said dad sadly,
I tucked under the covers and i thought about being in sixth grade, without Mia to tell me a Joke and make me laugh, without Emma talking about the funny things her little sister Elio did, without Elizabeth talking about fashion, with a new teacher…
After a while, i fell asleep
I didn’t hear when grandma left…
On monday, mom drove me to school, i was so nervous. When we got there, i hopped off the car, waved goodbye to mom, and she drove away…
I walked across the yard, then i saw Emma, Elizabeth and Mia standing near the front door.
“Hi, Sophie!” Called Mia
When i didn’t answer Elizabeth said:
“Whats wrong?”
Chapter 3
the smartest, most talented

“Yes, you look pretty down today” said Emma
“Im just really scared” i said with tears in my eyes
“It will be all fine” said Mia, and she reached and patted my back
“Yes! You will still see us in the cafeteria” said Elizabeth, she was right, i would see them at the cafeteria, that made me feel better, i smiled at them and entered the school.
I walked solidly along the corridors, i saw new faces, but i imediantly recognized Olivia and Kasey’s faces, they were leaning on my locker, having a chat.
Olivia is a dark-skinned girl wit very long, straight glossy black hair held in a high ponytail, she has gold earrings and gold chains and necklaces, she wore cropped shirts and skirts, you rarely saw her wearing any other color apart from black and dark blue, she never smiled nicely and her dark brown eyes had superhuge lashes. While Kasey was built the other way, she had white skin, blonde, extravagant hair with bangs, she wore pink earrings, skirts and cropped shirts too, she had blue eyes and never wore necklaces or anything around her neck.
They both shared the passion for bothering me and other kids.
“Could you move, please?” I asked
“Why?” Asked Olivia, frowning at me
“Because i say so, you are in my way” i said
“you are in our way, cant you see that we are talking?” Said Kasey with a mean voice. She just made a face at me and kept talking with Olivia, i got inpatient, if i was going to have to spend a year alone with those too meanies, it would be a nightmare.
“Please move over” i growled.
“no” said Olivia
“Yes” i said back
“Make us” said Kasey
“I just need to leave my backpack!” I said crankily
“Well then you are not leaving that backpack” said
Olivia
¡aarggh!!
i tryed to push in between them but Kasey quickly pushed me over
“Go get another locker! If we decide we want to chat here, we chat here!” Said Kasey
I got superannoyed.
I dropped my backpack beside my locker, not really my smartest choice, but id rather leave it dumped right there than having to force those two to move away. Olivia frowned at me, i shrugged and strolled to the classroom.
There, i was in my seat, and a short lady with a long brown skirt, a white shirt with a tight belt along it entered the room, "good morning, im Mrs. Eleanor Swiss, i will be your sixth grade teacher" she said with a kind voice and a soft smile.
"Why don’t we start this day off with a math test"
Said Mrs. Eleanor.
The whole class made groaned.
But Mrs. Eleanor printed some math problems on the chalk board anyways.
It said: "4+4+4=_?" On the board
"Who can tell me the answer to this particular question?" Asked Mrs. Eleanor.
No one said anything.
i imediantly raised my hand,
The teacher raised an eyebrow at me
"twelve... the answer is twelve" i said shyly.
Everyone stared at me wide-eyed
The teacher looked surprised at me.
She sat down in her wooden chair, still looking at me
She typed on her phone, and then looked at me again. I was nervous, what if i answered it so wrong? Everybody would laugh at me...
"You've studied" said Mrs. Eleanor
I raised my eyebrow
"You are right, the answer is twelve" she said, smiling
Everyone looked at me, and clapped!
I couldn't believe it! on my very first day in sixth grade, i just answer a math question and everybody claps at ¿me?
I smiled and sat back down. ¡¡¡OMG!!! My day wasn't off to a bad start!!!
The next day, i dressed in green clothes, green is my favorite color, and green is the color of luck too!.
I got to school, my mouth fell way open! EVERYBODY was talking about ME!
A girl named Lila came up to me
"Come sing with me"
She said, she loves to sing.
I followed her, she smiled at me and started a song on her iPhone, everyone started crowding us!
She tapped her foot and then sang:
"you are amazing!"
She tapped
"Dressing green! you roll!"
I got the hang of it.
People started filming us with their phones.
"Thank you! This is one in a million" said Lila happily, she rushed off.
The next day, i checked on instagram on my way to school. I saw a post from a girl in school, about me and Lila singing yesterday! The description was:
The music Queen and the smartest, most talented, making a beat! my mouth fell open, but what surprised me more than that was that when i got to school, everybody was wearing green! I almost dropped my phone.
Inside, i was walking through every green kid, a little toddler and her big sister came up at me
"Hi" said the big sister
"Hello" said the little sister
"hi, why is everybody wearing green?" I asked them
"You wore green yesterday, Sophie, they want to dress like you" said the big sister
