This book is inspired by real historical events from Sikh history, including the life of Guru Gobind Singh Ji and his four sons, the Chaar Sahibzade. While based on true events, certain scenes and dialogue have been adapted to make the story engaging and age-appropriate for young children.
To my little warrior, Yuvraj Singh—
May you always walk with truth, bravery, and Chardi Kala (ever-rising spirit).
When I searched for a book to help my toddler learn about Guru Gobind Singh Ji and the Chaar Sahibzade, I couldn’t find one that felt just right for his age. So, I decided to create this story—one that teaches young children about bravery, faith, and love for family.
May this book inspire children everywhere to be kind, strong, and always stand for what is right—just as the Sahibzade did.
What began as a gift for my son is now a dedication to all little hearts full of curiosity, courage, kindness, and love.
This is the story of the tenth Sikh Guru, Guru Gobind Singh Ji, and his four brave sons—lovingly called the Chaar Sahibzade.
It is a story of courage, kindness, and standing up for what is right, no matter how hard it may be.

Guru Gobind Singh Ji lived happily with his family in the beautiful city of Anandpur Sahib. The air was filled with the sounds of prayers, laughter, and learning.
He taught his four sons—the Chaar Sahibzade—to be kind, brave, and strong in their faith.
But the Mughal rulers did not like the Sikh way of helping others and standing for freedom. They surrounded Anandpur Sahib, but even with their big army, they could not break through the strong fort.
December 20th, 1704
The Mughal rulers promised peace if Guru Gobind Singh Ji left the fort with his family and Sikhs. Initially, Guru Gobind Singh Ji did not trust them. But at the request of his followers, he agreed. He said, 'I don’t trust the Mughals, but I cannot refuse my beloved Sangat.'
So, on a cold winter night, Guru Gobind Singh Ji left Anandpur Sahib with his family and Sikhs. They began a journey that would change their lives forever.

As they reached the banks of the River Sarsa, the Mughals broke their promise and attacked without warning. Amid the storm of battle and the roar of the river, the family was separated.
Guru Gobind Singh Ji, with his two elder Sahibzade and Sikhs, sought refuge in Chamkaur Sahib.
The two younger Sahibzade, along with Mata Gujri Ji, journeyed toward Fatehgarh Sahib.

December 22nd, 1704
At Chamkaur Sahib, a fierce battle began.
Guru Gobind Singh Ji, with his two elder sons and the brave Sikhs, showed great courage as they fought to protect their people and their faith.
In the battle, Baba Ajit Singh Ji and Baba Jujhar Singh Ji gave their lives with unmatched bravery, standing strong so that others could live in freedom, peace, and safety.

December 23rd, 1704
The next day, many other brave Sikhs also gave their lives at the Battle of Chamkaur Sahib. They became Shaheeds (martyrs), remembered for their courage.
They fought with strength and faith, never giving up—even when the battle seemed impossible.
Their bravery showed the world that faith and friendship are stronger than fear.
