Once upon a time there was a black cat named Elvis. He was a wise cat with a big belly. His large appearance scared anyone who met him. Even though he looked scary he was a big cuddle bug with a soft spot for people. Elvis was the only pet. He loved his humans and basked in all their attention, until one day they brought home a dog!
Kaiser the handsome boxer was sweet as pie, but he was the biggest scaredy cat of them all! What will he think about the ferocious black panther? Elvis was harsh and cold, he swore he needed no friends! Kaiser was way bigger than Elvis, but he would never go near him, because of how nervous he was. Would they become friends? Surely not, a cat and a dog cannot be friends. Kaiser was eager to play with the cat, but Elvis seemed interested in nothing but sleeping. The family was happy, and they moved to a new home. And one day, Kaiser was lying in the human bed when Elvis laid down next to him. He had finally let down his guard, and started being nicer to Kaiser.
Kaiser and Elvis got into all sorts of trouble together, but their humans could never stay mad at them. Elvis wasn’t a big fan of sharing his favorite human Skylar, he had grown to be very attached to her. Elvis did not want to share with Kaiser, but he made an exception at times. Elvis noticed all the human stuff being put into boxes, and this could only mean one thing.
The family have decided to move; this new place had a ginormous yard for Kaiser to run and chase squirrels in, but there were new dog friends and new strange cats. Due to his spoiled and pampered life, Elvis was deemed to stay an indoor cat. There were some cats that could go in and out and they would return smelling awful! Elvis was frustrated having to share a house with all these cats. While Kaiser was having the time of his life with his new dog friends. Kaiser was becoming less afraid of things in the world. Even Elvis had become very close friends to one of the cats Domino and Elvis started to be happier again. Kaiser and Elvis slowly started seeing each other less, but still had time for a cuddle.
Years went by and the two friends had grown old together. He was the only dog for the longest time until one day he heard his humans squealing looking at their box with light. There was a picture of a puppy on it and Kaiser would have a new friend! Elvis remained unaware of this until the day came where they brought home Storm, the white boxer. Kaiser had never seen a puppy, so he was not ready for the energy of a boxer puppy. Kaiser avoided her for the first couple of weeks, but he slowly accepted his new little sister even though he was tired. He always had time to play with her. Elvis was quite fond of the puppy ever since they met. He always played with her and she grew to love cats so much. Elvis and Kaiser were happy. Their family was big now, but Elvis didn’t mind sharing the love in the house. Kaiser didn’t have energy to play anymore and his face was full of grey.
The day came where the family took Kaiser and he never came home. Elvis would search and meow for him. Storm would lay in his favorite spots, with his favorite toys. Elvis didn’t know where his best friend went, but he could see his humans crying more often ever since that day. He noticed how sad Storm had been recently; she’d never been the only dog before. She has always had a sibling, so Elvis tried his hardest to be sweet and play with her like Kaiser.
But Elvis slowed down and didn’t have energy to play. He’d start to forget things, get lost in the house, and his vision was blurry. The day came where the humans took him to this strange place.
