“Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound…”  Hudson always loved the sound of his momma’s voice, and this Sunday was no different.  He peeked at her quickly, not wanting her to see him and stop singing, and he saw a single tear falling down her cheek.  His momma sounded like an angel. ..so why was she crying?

Huddy slipped his little 6 year old hand in hers. She gave him the most beautiful smile he had ever seen.  How could mommy be crying, and have a smile that beautiful all at the same time?

After church and as daddy was fixing lunch, Momma asked Huddy to help her water their big, yummy tomato plants.  “Momma”, Huddy asked, “who’s Grace?”  Momma looked confused, and thought he was talking about Grammy and Poppi’s dog, but that couldn't be right... he KNEW who that Grace was.  

“At church, you sang about how amazing she is, and it made you cry.” 

Oh Huddy, let me tell you who Grace is!  Grace is not a person, but a precious gift that God gives every one of us. My most favorite part about grace is that it’s like a special surprise that we don’t have to earn, and we really don’t deserve it.    

 Because He knows that when we take that grace, we’ll remember how much He loves us.

But God loves us so much that he can’t wait to give it to us. Did you know, God gets even MORE excited when we take the gift called grace...

Do you remember when that waitress spilled really cold water on my lap last week? It didn’t feel very good, and mommy could have gotten very upset about it.  But…I gave the waitress grace.

“I remember that mommy!  She was so embarrassed, and thought you would get her in trouble.”  Yes sweetheart, but instead, I told her it was okay, and that it wasn’t anything to get upset about.
