Autumn Theme Announcements & Recommendations of 2025
Week 1

Recommended Reading for the Autumn Season and Thanksgiving holiday!

My Two Favorites:

By Autumn Lee
By Melody McClure

This book offers a charming glimpse into a girls life, captivating readers with its simple writing style. The humorous illustrations beautifully enhance the scenes, sparking creativity with imaginative thoughts and fantastic ideas. While not strictly autumn-themed, I wholeheartedly recommend it! You can find it in the "Books I Like" collection.

296 reads!
This book is fun to read, offering a firsthand experience of cooking Thanksgiving dinner alone. Melody did a splendid job with the pictures and descriptive words!

151 reads!
A new book, When They Fly, just came out and is the editor's pick! I won't provide illustrations since I'm currently out of space for pictures, but I have it saved in my "Books I Like" collection. The pictures and wording are simple, but I think it's a lovely book about gain and loss. The author, Brianna Knisel, did a fabulous job!
Another new book, called Plitvice Lakes National Park, is really pretty with its neat pictures! The wording is also amazing. The authors, Melody, Andrew, Julia, and Lenka, did a terrific job!
Fun facts Theme: Autumn & Thanksgiving!
Fact 1: The first Thanksgiving was celebrated in 1621, lasting three days as a harvest festival.
Fact 2: Turkey wasn't originally on the menu!
Fact 3: Pumpkin spice actually has nothing to do with pumpkins! It's primarily spices like cinnamon, nutmeg, and ginger.

Christen Book Of The Week
Fact 4: The color change in leaves during fall is influenced by the amount of sugar and other pigments present. (Pigment means stuff that makes things colorful, like paint!)
Fact 5: Fall is soup season! The warmth makes you feel cozy.

Bonus Fact!
Did you know with a total of 18 lines, Aurora is the Disney Princess with the least amount of Dialogue? (Dialogue is just the talking or conversation that characters do in stories, like in movies or books!)
Tis True! Hmm... 19 lines. Talk about no dialogue!
