Once upon a time, there was a little girl named Lúa.
Every night, before going to sleep,
she would sit and watch the sky full of stars.
She dreamed of touching them, of talking to them,
of keeping one inside her pocket.
One early morning, she saw a different light.
A star had slipped from the sky!
It fell like a shining flame
and landed in the nearby forest.
“I must find it!” said Lúa, excited.
With her lantern and her blue scarf,
Lúa entered the enchanted forest.
The trees whispered,
the fireflies lit the path,
and the crickets sang like a secret choir
Suddenly, a golden owl flew down from a branch.
“I am Aureo, guardian of the forest,” he said.
“I know you are searching for the fallen star.
Come, follow me, but be careful:
not everyone wants it to return to the sky.”
On the path, a cheerful squirrel appeared.
“My name is Chispa, and I saw the star fall,” she said.
Soon after, a silver-tailed fox came out of the bushes.
“I am Brillo. That star is special:
it will only return to the sky
if someone gives it back without selfishness.”
The group arrived at a lake that looked like a giant mirror.
In the center floated the star,
more beautiful than ever.
But a water dragon was guarding its glow.
“Who dares to touch my treasure?” he roared.
Lúa trembled, but stepped forward.
“I don’t want your treasure, dragon,” she said firmly.
“I only want the star to return to the sky,
because the world needs its light.”
The dragon looked at her, surprised.
With a gentle breath,
he placed the star in the girl’s hands.
Lúa and her friends climbed the highest mountain.
With tenderness, she lifted the star toward the sky.
The heavens welcomed it with a giant glow.
That night, a new constellation was born:
a little girl, an owl, a squirrel, and a fox.
And ever since, when a star shines the brightest,
it is said to remember Lúa,
the girl who returned the light without asking for anything in return.
