CHAPTER 1
This is the story of Roberto, the curious and energetic green parakeet who lived in the lush jungle of Central America.
Roberto was a special parakeet: he had the gift of communicating with others, even if they were not his own species.
Every day, he flew over the treetops, delighting in the taste of tropical fruits such as papayas, mangoes, and pineapples.
CHAPTER 2
One day, Roberto embarked on a long flight ...
...and decided to find out where those lights that could be seen in the distance at night came from.
While flying over a river, he felt like taking a bath and went to dive into the river...
Under the water, he managed to see a fish that was swimming and making bubbles, and there were crabs and also the fearsome crocodile. It was an impressive world; it was the aquatic world.
After greeting his new friends and seeing what the river was like, he said goodbye to his new friends and continued on his journey.
Chapter 3
After flying for a while he got hungry and looked at a papaya tree and went straight to eat the fruit.
...While enjoying his lunch, he heard the nightingale sing...
...after singing, the nightingale said out loud: Where will I find a red rose? If I don't find it, I won't be able to take it to my mother, lamented the nightingale...
Roberto, who had heard him, said: Hello, friend nightingale, I was resting and I heard that you couldn't find a red rose...
Roberto, on his trip, had seen a beautiful rosebush, full of red roses, on the edge of a waterfall, and he told the nightingale that he would show him where the waterfall was and the rosebush full of roses...
And they went until they reached the waterfall, and there was the rosebush with its red rose, and the nightingale was happy and sang with joy and thanked Roberto for helping him find what he was looking for.
Chapter 4
Continuing with Roberto's adventures on his journey, he came across a lagoon with clear, calm waters ...
That looked so serene that Roberto decided to stay a few days and explore the beautiful place...
After choosing where his nest would be: A mango tree on the edge of the lagoon, Roberto was so happy to have food and a beautiful lagoon.
Flying over the waters, he could see a heron: "Hello, stranger," said the white, skinny-legged bird.
"Hello, Mrs. Heron, can you tell me the name of this beautiful place? This beautiful blue lagoon. It's called Xiloa," said Mrs. Heron with a proud tone. "I love this place, it has beautiful sunsets."
Chapter 5
It was a rainy day, and Roberto was wet and very cold. He camped out in the rain on a branch of a leafy tree.
In the tree lived a family of squirrels. They had made their den by digging a hole in the tree trunk. A squirrel saw Roberto wet and shivering from the cold, and he immediately went out to invite him to spend the rain inside his den...
...being all together, Papa squirrel, Mama squirrel, and 2 daughter squirrels gave him a blanket to warm him up a little, they also offered him nuts and almonds, and everyone ate and were happy to help Roberto.
Then the rain passed, and Roberto thanked the squirrels and continued his journey.
Chapter 6
One day, as Roberto continued his journey toward the lights that were seen at night...
Suddenly, he saw some monkeys playing and jumping for joy...
They danced, jumped, and laughed. They swung on the branches of the trees. It was a joyful party...
Roberto wanted to share that joy that the monkeys had, and he approached them and told them that, if they allowed him to join the game they were having, they accepted, and everyone was happy playing and having fun.
One of the monkeys found a bag full of cocoa beans. Look what I found, a bag of cocoa beans.
Let's plant them, said one...
Let's make chocolate, said another...
Roberto approached, curious, and said, "What a great idea! But whose seeds could these be? I don't think they just appeared here by chance...
" A monkey, the smartest of them, said: "It's important to return what doesn't belong to us. Maybe someone in the jungle is looking for them."
Bah, said another monkey, "We found her, let's make chocolate.
" However, Roberto didn't feel right about that idea. He knew that being honest was the right thing to do, even when no one was looking.
Suddenly, an armadillo appeared and shouted, saying, "I've lost a bag of cocoa beans. Has anyone seen them?"
“Armadillo,” Roberto said, flying toward him, “I think we found your seeds.” The parakeet explained how they had found them, and although at first they thought about taking them, they decided the right thing to do was to return them.
And the armadillo left happy because he had found what he had lost.
Chapter 7
It was a peaceful morning in the jungle, and Roberto the parakeet was enjoying a leisurely flight through the trees...
Suddenly, he saw something that thrilled him: a large coconut palm tree, and it was full of fruit! "How delicious," said Roberto.
"Today is the perfect day for a coconut party!" thought Roberto, and he flew quickly toward the tree.
"Hmm... but how can I peel those coconuts? My beak is too small," he thought, scratching his head with one of his wings. "I'm going to need help!"
Roberto flew off in search of his friends. The first one he found was Paco the toucan, who was resting on a nearby branch. "Paco, we have to throw a coconut party! The tree is full, but I can't peel any. Will you help me?"
Paco wagged his big beak and smiled. "Of course, Roberto! With my long beak, I can peel coconuts."
So the two friends went to look for the coconut palm to prepare the feast.
When they arrived, the toucan saw that there were many coconuts and went to invite the monkeys to help them cut them.
They would cut the monkeys and give them to Paco the toucan...
Paco would peel them and give them to Roberto...
