Lina was a little girl whose heart was as sunny as a sunflower. She loved giggling and playing! But she had one big, wobbly fear: being left alone. If her mummy, Fatima, stepped out of the room—even for just a minute—Lina felt like she had been abandoned forever.

She was also scared of sudden, loud noises. And worst of all, she was scared of her mummy's voice when it called from another room! A voice floating all alone in the air, without a body to go with it, made Lina's heart flutter like a tiny, trapped bird.

One afternoon, Mummy Fatima sat down right beside Lina. "My little one, Lina," her mummy said in a soft, kind voice. "I want you to know something very important."

Even when you can't see me—when I'm working, or when you're at nursery—my love stays with you, always! It’s like this." Mummy Fatima reached into her pocket and pulled out a small, sparkly stone.

"This is the Stone of Courage and Love. Whenever you feel scared or lonely, hold it tight. Remember that my love for you is so big, and it never, ever disappears."

The next day, Lina went to nursery. At first, she felt that familiar wobbly fear when Mummy Fatima waved goodbye at the door. But then, she remembered the stone.
