The sun began to peek over the hilltop at Sweet Acres Farm. Farmer Millie yawned and stretched. Beside her sat Cupcake, her dog. "Good Morning, Farmer Millie!" barked Cupcake. 

"Good morning, Millie! It's time to head to the barn and feed the animals," Farmer Millie told Cupcake. "Let's go!" barked Cupcake. 

Farmer Millie and Cupcake headed to the barn. But something wasn't right. "Farmer Millie, look!" said Cupcake. "Some animals have too few feed pans, some have too many, and some are just right!"

"Oh no, you're right Cupcake!" said Farmer Millie. "There's been a mix-up! We'll have to fix the feed pans to make the right amount."

Farmer Millie and Cupcake went to the Cow pen. "I'll count the cows, and you count the feed pans," said Farmer Millie. "There are 4 feed pans!" barked Cupcake. "And I count 9 cows," said Farmer Millie.

"Do we have too many, too few, or just the right amount?" asked Farmer Millie. "There aren't enough feed pans!" said Cupcake. "You're right! How many more do we need?" asked Farmer Millie. 

"We need to add 5 feed pans," said Cupcake. "Hurry, we're starving!" mooed Milkshake the cow. Farmer Millie and Cupcake brought 5 more feed pans to the cows.

"Thank you!" said Milkshake. "You're welcome," said Farmer Millie. "Come on, Cupcake, the goats are next!" Off they went to the goat pen. 

Farmer Millie and Cupcake walked to the goat pen. "I'll count the goats, and you count the feed pans this time," said Cupcake. "Okay! There are 5 goats," said Farmer Millie. "And I count 10 feed pans!" barked Cupcake.

"Do we have too many, too few, or just enough?" asked Cupcake. "We have too many feed pans," said Farmer Millie. "How many should we take away to make it equal?"

"We need to take away 5 feed pans," said Farmer Millie. "Aww, do you have to? I was saving those for later!" bahhed Sprinkles the goat. Farmer Millie and Cupcake took away 5 feed pans.
