WAIT!!!!
Dearest Reader,
Throughout this book, you are going to see some words that don’t look the same, but sound the same. What?!?? But have no fear. We call these words homophones. According to a fancy dictionary (Webster-Merriam, to be exact), a homophone is “one of two or more words pronounced alike but different in meaning or derivation or spelling”. In short, two or more words that can look different but sound the same, and they mean different things.
You're also going to see words that look the same and sound the same, but mean different things. These words are called homonyms. Homonyms are defined as "one of two or more words spelled and pronounced alike but different in meaning." Basically what I just said, but with fancier wording.
ENJOY!
Love,
Your Author, Amelia
