In the jungle where shadows dance,
Curious George takes every chance.
With mischief sparkling in his gaze,
Adventure beckons through the maze.

In the jungle green, so far away,
Lived George the monkey, loved to play.
Gleeful eyes and not mysterious.
He was too curious.

Then came a man, in yellow bright.
A straw hat shining in the light.
Placed it down on the jungle floor.
George couldn't resist, he wanted more.

Hat on his head, couldn’t see a thing.
The Man in Yellow heard him sing.
Then a sudden grab, a burlap sack.
George was captured, no turning back.

On a sailing ship, across the sea,
George felt sad. “What will become of me?”
The Man unpacked him, gave him a smile,
“A big zoo awaits, in a little while!”

“Don’t get in trouble,” the Man did say.
But seagulls soared, George wanted to play.
Tried to fly, with a joyful leap—
Splash! In the water, sinking deep!

The crew threw a ring, he grabbed it fast.
Pulled him aboard, the danger passed.

A long, long trip, then land in sight.
To the Man's tall house, bathed in city light.

A tasty meal, a pipe’s sweet scent
George felt sleep, his energy spent
Big pajamas, human-sized and wide
Curiosity slumbered, deep inside

Next morning dawned, the Man was gone.
A telephone sat, all alone.
Shiny buttons, begging to be pressed.
George dialed and dialed, putting things to the test.

Numbers spinning, a fire alarm’s call.
The station answered, standing tall.
No words spoken, just a silent plea.
Firefighters rushed, “Where could it be?”

Map pinpointing, a house on the street,
Engines screaming, a roaring heat;
No flames they found, no fire in sight.
They blamed poor George, in the morning light.
