Critical Thinking, The Roots of Reason

Critical thinking helps us ask smart and thoughtful questions, to explore and make the right decisions. Critical thinking is like growing strong roots. 

- We will use comparing and contrasting activities in our daily practices, to help think of different solutions or outcomes.

- We will incorporate graphic organizers to help sort similarities and differences. 

- We will set aside time in each lesson to talk about how we could solve that problem and the steps we would take.

Communication, The Bloom of Expression

Communication helps us share our ideas, listen to others, and grow together, in and out of the classroom.

- I will have a daily routine set, and morning meeting to encourage respect and active listening. It helps build our relationships and communication skills.
- Practice giving peer feedback and receiving it with a growth mindset to improve in the future. 

- Student led discussions, creates a place for students to share their ideas, ask questions, and encourage others.

Collaboration, The Vine of Teamwork

Collaboration means growing together, sharing ideas, helping others, and teamwork.

- We will often do group projects, as it helps students bounce ideas off each other, create new strategies, and learn from one another.

- Reflecting as a group on how they succeeded or did not. Sharing new ideas or strategies for others to practice.

- Using things like Padlet or Flipgrid to respond and share with others' ideas or findings. 

Creativity, The Sunlight of Imagination

Creativity is the sunlight that helps grow new ideas, like imagining, exploring, expressing things.

- Encourage students to take risks and try new things or ideas, to grow.

- Choice based learning allows students to explore what they know and enjoy. Using their imagination to grow their learning. 

- Ask "what if" questions in daily practices, to keep them engaged and thinking about multiple different solutions or ideas.
