When the lights go out,

        and no light bulb does its duty,

    and you get scared,

        that's normal,

    that's okay,

                but try not to keep it that way. 

    Then you hear on the news

            something you don't want to hear,

    and you start thinking,

            but your thinking doesn't help,

                and you're horrified

                            and that's fine,

                                just don't stay like that.

        Of course, there are wars

            and you want it to end,

    you want to help as much as possible,

      but you just 

    feel helpless,

    and you're depressed by it. 

             Life can't always be perfect. 

    It's okay to feel that way,

            just don't grow that feeling.

    Sadly, mother nature 

        likes to throw hurdles in our path, 

    Tornadoes, hurricanes, floods, 

        everything. 

            You know you definitely can't help that

        and you're petrified, 

                but the thing is,

        you won't feel better if 

    you keep feeding the emotion.. 

    What if we can change that? 

        what if we can change 

    the darkness? 

        The world is a dark place.

    It doesn't have to be.

        We just keep making 

    it that way. 

We feed that emotion

    negatively. 

which turns 

others' 

moods 

upside down. 

    We look towards everything

with pity and

    anger,

    scared

    and with that horrible 

attitude, 

when we look at the world's 

darkness,

    we make it harder to be

 happy.

    What if we look towards everything

        with beauty, respect, and love?

    What if we look towards each other

        with beauty, respect, and love?

    What if we look towards ourselves 

        with beauty, respect, and self-love?

    Our world is a beautiful place

        we've just lost confidence in keeping it.

    Our world is dying.

It's beautiful, but it's dying

And it's our fault.

We've lost confidence in standing up

    for what's right

because we don't have the right people 

    to teach us

because few people look towards God for help.
