The legend I am going to tell you is more than 800 years old.
It began during the last crusade, on a cold and dangerous battlefield. Our main character, Matthew, was left completely alone. The soldiers around him had disappeared and the battle was clearly lost. For many days he walked through empty trenches, tired, hungry and afraid. In the end, he understood that he had to leave before it was too late.
With the little strength he had left and with the help of his loyal horse Christopher, Matthew started his journey home. He moved quietly and quickly because he did not know when an enemy might attack again.
After several hours, he discovered an enemy camp hidden in the snow. Winter made everything difficult to see and all the soldiers were dressed in thick coats that made them look the same. Matthew knew he could not avoid the camp, so he had to fight.
He slowly approached a soldier who was packing a box and managed to attack him first. When Matthew opened the box to look for supplies, he suddenly noticed a sword coming toward him from behind. He turned around just in time, dodged the attack, and stabbed the enemy in the chest.
Exhausted and freezing, Matthew decided to stay in the camp for the night. He used the bandages from the box to treat his cuts and tried to rest while the winter wind blew outside.
The next morning, Matthew and Christopher continued their journey. They walked through a dark forest and climbed a tall mountain path. After many hours, they finally saw a small village hidden between the trees and the snow.
The village looked like his own village, but something was strange. Did the sun suddenly shine on a snowy day? It was nonsense! A red cloud appeared from afar and the weather became dark again.

He saw his sister Eleanor on the ground, her body covered in blood. Matthew was horrified. All he had was his sister! As if this wasn't enough, he heard his horse's painful screams. Looking to the side, he saw the body of his horse, Christopher, the poor animal completely dismembered.
And now, the blackened, oozing blood, next to the trampled clothes… The fearless knight had goosebumps. Just as he was about to let out his knight in his guard, the neighing of a horse. He opened his eyes. He realized that these were just dreams. He took a deep breath and hugged Christopher's copper brown mane.

When he came to, he realized that he was crazy, cold and cold, and that's why he lost consciousness. Now, crazy questions were growing in his mind. What happened to Eleanor? Would he find her? A few drops of tears fell from his eyes. Of course, being fearless did not mean emotionless.
He began to hum, "The little knight, on a snowy night, not alone, with his princess, the little princess on a snowy night, not alone, with her knight." This was a special song for Matthew and Eleanor. Their mother used to sing this song to them every night, before being captured during the occupation. She thought Matthew would be a knight and Elanor would be a princess. She would sing this song with the wish that they could always be together. Life did not allow this. He made a decision. He would find his precious Elanor and he would find... his mother.
