Anatomy Basics: This is how scientists investigate the human form; standing tall, palms forwards, arms at the sides, this is termed the anatomical posture.
Two methods we separate the body for research are shown below:
Separating left from right is the sagittal plane.
Separates top and bottom: transverse plan.
Body Cavities : Cavities, which are sections of our bodies, protect our organs. holds the chest cavity containing the lungs enabling us to breathe. Stands the stomach, thereby helping with abdominal cavity food digestion.
System Interaction: My skeletal system and muscular system work together like teammates. My bones give me shape, and my muscles pull on the bones so I can move! Nervous System → Muscular System: The nervous system sends electrical signals to muscle fibers. Muscular System → Nervous System: Muscle sensors send feedback to the brain about tension and position. These two systems help each other by coordinating movement while constantly sharing feedback to ensure precise control.

Four Tissues: Epithelial tissue protects the body and forms boundaries by covering surfaces and lining organs. Connective tissue supports, binds, and cushions other tissues and organs. Muscle tissue contracts to produce movement and generate force. Nervous tissue sends and processes electrical signals to control body functions.

Bone Basics: My bones are strong and full of minerals like calcium.
Bones aren’t just hard sticks, they have living cells inside that help them grow and repair.
Story/Illustration Idea: Thermoregulation.
Alex's body sweats and blood vessels near the surface broaden to chill him off when he gets too hot playing outside.
His body shivers and blood vessels close around the surface when he feels chilly to maintain heat.
This helps Alex's body temperature stay consistent despite fluctuations in the weather.
Where two bones come together, joints are regions.
Some spin like a joystick your shoulder some bend like a hinge your elbow.
Joints enable me to dance, run, wiggle, and leap!
