Prologue
People. Wherever you go, you'll always find them. Most of the time, people annoy you. But guess what? You'll eventually have to get over it. I'm going to start when I first joined band.
It was time for specials. That day we had band, and I had my instrument! It was my first time playing, so I had no idea how to assemble the thing or play it! But the band teacher, Mr. Jackson, taught me how to assemble the instrument. Band started in September, and we came back to school in August. After he taught me how to assemble the instrument, he showed me a video of how to play the note G which is literally no holes covered. So far, it was only Talia and I in band. Talia was the first 3rd grader in band. I was the second. On the weekend, we went to this tournament Mr. Jackson suggested. I learned the notes C, D, F, and E. Once it was Wednesday again, I showed Mr. Jackson, and he was happy for me. Later, more people joined band: Nyomi, Naomi, Kaiylee, Sayhlia, Savanna, Khloie, and Aidan. FYI, no I didn't put them in order.
CHAPTER 1
Hi. My name is D'Adra. Dee ay dr uhh. D'Adra Duncan. Duncan like Dunkin' Donuts. It's December 10th! It's almost my birthday, and Christmas! It's Wednesday, and Mr. Jackson picks us up for band on Wednesday, Thursday, and every other Friday. We waited until everyone in 3rd grade band was there. (If you haven't taken the clue yet, I'm in 3rd grade.) Sadly, we don't practice in our normal classroom because of gifted testing. Instead, we go on the stage in the cafeteria. Nyomi and Aidan are bad at their instruments.
I'm the best in the 3rd grade at my instrument and also the smartest in the grade. We practiced Hot Cross Buns and Jingle Bells. After band, we went to Ms. Hooks's class for science. We learned about habitats. Boring. "For homework tonight," said Ms. Hooks, "you're going to write about what the climate (weather) is in the Blue Ridge region, and where the Blue Ridge Mountains are located in Georgia." I sighed. Ms. Irvin's homework and Ms. Hooks's homework. Well, obviously it isn't the first time I got 2 homework assignments. But, it is annoying. We didn't have any MAP testing today. HOORAY!
Once I got home (my bus route was not there, so we had to wait about 30 minutes for another route to pick us up and 30 minutes to get home) I read 4 chapters of 'Out of My Mind' by Sharon M. Draper, did my multiplication from 2-12 (or sometimes 1-12) and did my tutor's homework (Ms. Linda's homework). Then I knocked on my mom's door until she opened it and then said politely, "Mom, I'm done with my homework." "Okay. Go bathe," she responded. So, that's what I did. I grabbed my towel, went into the bathroom and took a bath. When I was finished, D'Andre (my brother) was in the room on his chair watching Netflix on his computer. I told him to get out because I was going to change my clothes.
And he took 36 years (not literally). Then he finally got out. I slipped into my sleep clothes (a nightgown.) Then Didi came in and said, "It's your turn to clean the closet now." 'Okay' I thought. I cleaned the space to perfection. (Almost.) Then I went to brush my teeth, and my toothpaste said "ADA APPROVED: American Dental Association." So did the mouthwash. As I finished, I said goodnight to everyone. As I was going to bed, I grabbed all my favorite plushies, then prayed to God. "Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on Earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive our trespasses, as we forgive those who have trespassed against us. Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil, for thine is the kingdom,
the power and the glory, forever and ever. Amen." Goodnight, you all. See you tomorrow.
CHAPTER 2
I woke up to Didi's alarm ringing in my ears. Whenever I wake up to an alarm, ANY alarm, my heart skips a beat. Literally. I'm not joking. I saw Didi waking up, then going back to sleep in an instant. I decided to be quiet so not only would he get in trouble, but I'd be the first one downstairs. I made my bed. It looked sloppy, but I didn't care. I tiptoed to the bathroom. Then I realized I was in the wrong. I went back in the room, and Didi woke up before anything. It took us a while to brush our teeth.
It was about 5:40 when I came downstairs. Uh oh. I quickly (no, not quickly at all) packed my lunch box and then I realized I had little time and I quickly (yes, quickly this time) made some pancakes before 6:00 because I have to go upstairs at that time. But, I only got like a bite of one pancake. Yes, only one, before mom called us upstairs. I quickly changed into my uniform and got my book bag and left my instrument because Mr. Jackson was at Princeton instead of Redan for a field trip. Shucks. So the band people had to go with the non-band people to P.E. At least we had free time. Lunch was after P.E. The lunch always tastes good for some reason. I don't know what the recipe is, and I don't care either.
Anyway, we had Ms. Irvin's class first, which was just math. In Ms. Hooks' class, we just had science and social studies, and in Ms. Inniss' class, we had reading, writing, and ELA. I love writing out of all of them. That's why I'm writing a story. (duh) Anyway, I don't know why everyone else who doesn't go to a school in DeKalb County says their school lunch tastes HORRIBLE and LOOKS HORRIBLE. Could never be me. We always get pizza on Fridays. YIPPEE! Once I got home I did my normal routine. Multiplication, Reading, Ms. Linda's homework, tell mom, free time. I got on my computer (which is what I'm writing this story with) and just played a Google Doodle game. It was called "Snake." You have probably heard it or played it before. I'll just skip to the 13th because I'm too lazy to write.
CHAPTER 3
I jumped when I heard the alarm. Heart skipped a beat. Casual. I called Didi's name to wake him up. He says he always wakes up to the alarm- which is a BIG FAT LIE. NO HE DOES NOT. Continuing on, we brushed our teeth, and went downstairs because Mom says if we're not downstairs by 5:40, don't bother going downstairs just change your clothes and get ready for school and eat school breakfast. Well, never happened to me, so.. I slowly opened the fridge, grabbed the pancakes, got a plate, put the pancakes on the plate, then put it in the microwave for a minute. Just wait...

Thank you if you are reading this. This is about my life which might not be THAT interesting- but it's my life. I am a young writer that can draw and has a whole life ahead of me. I might possibly make an Instrumental Part 2. Hopefully I will. Hopefully.
