We stuck pictures onto our glass door (as the window is too high for them to reach). The children enjoyed pointing and counting the objects. At this age (2-3 years) we try to teach them how to count up to number 5 only.

We then prepared a small crafts to help with number recognition.

All the children in our class are 5 years old, we have 5 fingers that help us greet the world, even through the window, 5 looks a lot like the letter S and all day long we call our teacher Simoooo, Simooooo, we have 5 holidays during the school year, and on the evening of December 5th, Saint Nicholas comes to visit us.

The children counted the candles in the window, assigned the number 6, then molded candles in the shape of the number 6 from plasticine.

If there are already 3 candles on the cake, how many more do we need to add to show that our colleague is turning 6?
