St Wenceslav Day
We celebrate it on 28th September.

October 28 is the day when Czechoslovakia became anindependent country after World War I.
It’s one of the most important national holidays in the Czech Republic.
On October 28, 1918, the NationalCommittee in Prague declared a new state — Czechoslovakia.

Halloween is a originally a Celtic folk holiday.
In USA they started celebrating Halloween in 1921.
In 1950 Halloween spread to other countries.
the most common activities at Halloween are : carving pumpkin, going to costume parties...
The little kids really like to go trick or treating and be dressed as a ghost.

All Souls Day
All Souls’ Day is celebrated on November 2nd.
It is a day to remember and honor deceased loved ones.
People visit cemeteries, decorate graves with flowers, and light candles to show respect.
The holiday has a Christian origin.



Veterans Day
Veterans Day is celebrated every year on November 11th to honor all men and women who served in the U.S. Armed Forces. This date is symbolic because it marks the end of World War I, which stopped on the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month in 1918. The holiday uses the colors of the American flag: red for bravery and sacrifice, white for purity and peace, and blue for justice. Another important symbol is the red poppy flower, which represents remembrance of those who fought in battle. We celebrate this day to show gratitude to living veterans for their courage and for protecting the freedom of the nation.

The Day of the Fight for Freedom and Democracy is celebrated at the 17th November every year and it is important part of czech history.
It all started in January when people were getting more disgusted from the communism. They were doing some kind of parades where they were asking for freedom of speech, freedom of travelling and more. After all week before the 17th November, there were a mass demonstration against Communist Party of Czechoslovakia (KSČ) called the Palach's week referencing to Jan Palach wich burnt himself as a demonstration against communism in Czechoslovakia. After the Palach's week the famous day became. The 17th November 1989 a thousands of people went to streets and were demonstrating.

All Saints' Day (Wszystkich Świętych)
All Saints’ Day – traditions • Visiting cemeteries and placing flowers and candles on the graves of deceased loved ones. • Attending church services to honor all saints, known and unknown. • Spending time with family and remembering those who have passed away
Day of the Dead (Święto Zmarłych)
All Saint's Day, Day of The Dead – is it the same? No it's not. At first, All Saint's Day is celebrated on 1st November and Day of The Dead is celebrated on 2nd November. On All Saint's we recall our ancestors and on 2nd we are praying for close ones.
Polish Independence Day
Polish Independence Day is celebrated on the 11th of November to remember the day Poland won freedom from the Russian, Prussian and Austro-Hungarian Empires after they partitioned Poland.
Poland was not present on the map for 123 years from 1795 to 1918.
St. Andrew's Day

St. Andrew's Day is a traditional evening of fortune telling, celebrated in Poland on the night of November 29-30 since 1557, on the eve of St. Andrew the Apostle's Day. It is a popular folk tradition with roots in ancient magical
beliefs and practices.
Pouring the Wax: Melted wax is poured through the eyelet of a key into cold water. The shape of the solidified wax, and the subsequent shadow it casts on the wall, is interpreted as a foreshadowing of future events or the characteristics ofa future partner.

In Spain, this day is used to raise awareness about gender violence and to support victims. It remembers women who have suffered or died because of gender-based violence.
It is celebrated with demonstrations, school activities, talks, and public events. Many people wear purple, which is the colour associated with the fight for women's rights. Schools, institutions and organisations often organise campaigns, posters, and educational activities to promote equality and respect.
The aim of this day is to educate society, prevent violence, and promote equality between men and women.

Ses Verges / The Virgins
Ses Verges is a traditional celebration in Mallorca that takes place on the night of October 20th, before the day of Santa Úrsula.
The celebration remembers the legend of Santa Úrsula and the eleven thousand virgins, who were martyred many centuries ago. Over time, this religious story became a popular local tradition.
People celebrate by singing serenades under the windows of girls or friends. The singers are often given buñuelos (bunyols) and sweet wine (vi dolç) to thank them for the songs. In many towns there are also concerts, street celebrations, and traditional food.

Tots Sants/ All Saints Day
It is celebrated on November 1st in Mallorca and in many other places in Spain.
This day is used to remember and honour people who have died, especially family members and loved ones.
People usually celebrate by visiting cemeteries and bringing flowers to the graves of their relatives. Families often meet together and share traditional autumn foods such as panellets, roasted chestnuts (castanyes), sweet potatoes (moniatos), and bunyols.
